Maybe it's better for Bryant that way - staying humble and centered and not being overly hounded by the media monster 24/7. He's a team guy. My Dodgers have a team full of team guys so I hope we can put a few more in Kris Bryant's league soon. Is this enough so far to get him in Cooperstown?

Stanton, Severino, Betances, Bird, Maybin, Sanchez and Andujar (out for the season) are still shelved, yet they just keep rolling. Great bullpen, defense and slugging doesn't hurt though. The starting pitching is still meh and I think the Dodgers are the best team in baseball and the Astros set up for a better playoff run, although the Yankees have handled them thus far this season.

Final 4 will be Dodgers vs Cubs and Yankees vs Astros is my call. Cards in the NL are cute but I think the Cubs will still find a way to beat them or the Braves or the Brewers when it counts.

Yeah, the starting pitching has been as bad as it gets for the past 5 games, but somehow they have managed to win 2 of those games and they still have the best record in baseball by a few percentage points over the Dodgers and Houston. Aaron Boone has pulled off a remarkable managing job this season. The bullpen is stellar, but they absolutely need to pry an ace from someone by the trade deadline (or thereafter) and also hope that Severino can come back 100% by no later than mid-September. Also, it is the dog days of summer, not only for the NBA, but these guys go through lulls right about now. I ain't sweatin'.

Cubs have THE WORST road record in the entire NL, if you can believe that. Worse than any of the bottom feeders. That will be their undoing in the post-season if they can make it.
Meanwhile the Swingin' A's have quietly put together a fantastic run in the competitive AL and are putting themselves in a great position to grab a Wild Card spot. Across the Bay, the lowly Giants have also gone on a nice run -- not nearly enough to threaten the Dodgers or the Wild Card, but it has put the spotlight on them as today's trade deadline sets up a probable Madison Bumgardner trade.
Speaking of my Dodgers, we again became the first to another "x10" milestone in wins, edging out the Astros as first to 70 wins. Our pace has slowed a bit but we're deep and can still play .650/.700 ball while getting our stars some rest headed into the dog days. For any teams on the bubble, now is the time to get it together and bring the A-game every day.
(Oh and look at this Puig jackass - the Reds quickly got sick of his bullshit and sent him to Cleveland but he's still looking at a suspension for his part in the brawls. So glad the Dodgers got him out of LA)
