lakerevolution wrote:A's have quietly put together an amazing season, and are about to comeback on the Texas Rangers again tonight. If you missed it last night, they were down 10-2 after 6 innings and scored 11 runs over the next 4 innings to win 13-10 in the 10th. Khris Davis smacked a 3-run game-winning homer. Third straight game with 4 homers for the A's. And the Piscotty side-story has been amazing too - guy lost his mom to Lou Gehrig's Disease back in May and has had a fantastic season despite the heartache.
"Honestly, it didn't feel like we were down that many runs," Davis said. "We were just playing the game like we're supposed to. This team is really good."
The last time the Athletics rallied from eight runs down after six innings came on Aug. 30, 1939, when the team was based in Philadelphia.
The Rangers, meanwhile, were 471-0 in franchise history when leading by at least eight runs in the seventh inning or later, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Oakland scored three in the seventh and four more with just one hit in the eighth. Stephen Piscotty's solo homer leading off the ninth tied the score against Keone Kela, who blew his first save of the season in 24 chances."
-The A's are now 60-43 and only 1.5 games behind the Mariners for the final Wildcard spot in the AL. They look really Good to respond to your Post!
-In the AL East the Red Sox are tearing it up at 71-32. They are 5.5 games ahead of the 64-36 Yankees. Yankees look like they may end up in the 1st Wildcard spot? In the AL West the 67-37 Astros are 5 games ahead of the 61-41 Mariners and 6.5 ahead of the A's. The AL Central is the worst Division in Baseball as the Indians at 55-46 are running away with it.
-In the NL East the 57-44 Phillies lead the 54-44 Braves by 1.5 games. In the NL Central the 59-42 Cubs lead the 58-46 Brewers by 2.5 games. In the NL West the 56-46 Dodgers lead the 56-47 D-Backs by a half game.
The Cubs currently have the best record in the NL but have concerning injuries, like to Kris Bryant. Bryant has a shoulder injury that he has been playing with but has missed several games because of it (has missed the last 2 games). Pitcher Brandon Morrow is also on the DL with a back injury.
