A big hearty shout out to all my brethren in this forum! We've heard it said many times that no one really knows what one is capable of, what one is "made of" until one is tested. Speaking from personal experience I can validate that. The same applies to a TEAM as to a single person. The Lakers have been through a VERY rigorous regular season so far. They have weathered several injuries to several different players. They have somehow managed to compile the best record in a LOADED Western Conference. I LIKE our team's prospects in the playoffs....ESPECIALLY if the guys can get ANY healing whatsoever. As for me, I have just emerged from a MAJOR health crisis that could easily have caved me in if I had given in to it. I chose to FIGHT, and thankfully I had enough "gas in the tank" to get back home again. I'm sorry I have not been able to banter and discuss with all of you, but I'm sure you understand. Our Lakers looked good last night and will acquit themselves well in any 7-game playoff series. Just my opinion. My very best to all of you, and GO LAKERS!

Great stuff Ken! Keeping the TrueFan tradition going is what it is all about. Just another great quote by the man himself. Thanks again to Nuggs. Great job putting this together and hey we don't have to stare at Chris Kaman anymore in the back ground

Another season almost gone. It will be the 6th season without Sam as he passed in July 2010 (RIP) - 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. He hasn't missed much as we haven't lived up to our past since he has passed. Hopefully we start the climb starting in the offseason. I just thought I would Post here as it has been ignored for months.

Thought it would be a good time to remember the site's namesake, and reflect on all the crazy ups and downs we've been through with our Lakers, and all the fans and posters who have made their entrances and exits from the ESPN Hollinger site to our home as currently constructed.

Ken, I know you and Nuggs have put in lots of work and dedication to keep this site going, and in the spirit of our new Laker squad, I'd like to do more to help keep this site going, improve it in any way we can, make it easier for more members to join, and pitch in financially however possible.

Tonight I'll raise a glass to all of you and say a little prayer for health, wealth and wisdom in 2019!

Great, heartwarming post, Rev. The frustrating part is the difficulty letting new people in IMO.

HAVING SAID THAT, I'm happy with our little gathering here anyway. We're knowledgable and respectful, even when being disagreeable, which is the way it should be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my brethren, and a big shout out to Sam, who I am sure is as excited about the Lakers' future as we are!

When I had the privilege of meeting you in person, you said "57, 58, 59" wins. Doesn't matter. All that matters is whether we're healthy." Words from years of experience. Words of wisdom.
****************

To me these things are self-evident. So much of the banter that passes for "analysis" generally speaking is devoid of common sense. Example: what good is HCA if health is compromised? To me this is a "no-brainer". Remember 1989? Hamstrings? Remember 1988 and Isaiah's ankle? Remember Yao and the FOOT? Health is NUMBER ONE! I KNOW that YOU know these things. I simply MARVEL at some of the stuff that gets posted. It's as if most folks have not "learned" these things somehow. Go figure!

Very nice Ken. I actually remember when Sam said that. Seems like yesterday. I was pretty new to the site then and loved the Hollinger's site immediately. He had some of the best posts.
