Top 10 as of June 1st, 2023
1. Michael Jordan
2. Magic Johnson
3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
4. LeBron James
-That is the Mt Rushmore, mine anyway.
5-10
5. Kobe Bryant
6. Larry Bird
7. Shaq O'Neal
8. Steph Curry
9. Tim Duncan
10. Hakeem Olajuwon
-That is post-merger since the 1977 season.
Honorable Mention's - Moses Malone, Dwyane Wade, Karl Malone
Joker and Giannis both are on the rise but as of now aren't better than any of these guys I have on my list. I would also say
Dirk Nowitzki is better than both as well (post-merger), he has just over 30000 points and a League MVP + a Finals MVP/Championship. Karl Malone is the only guy I have mentioned in this discussion that hasn't won a Championship but he belongs here. He lost to Jordan/Pippen/Rodman/Phil twice in the Finals otherwise he would have at least 1 or 2 Championships. Sometimes circumstance prevents a player from winning one.
Malone lost to not only the greatest player of all-time but the greatest Coach of all-time. His game spoke for itself = 36,928 points and 2 League MVP's.
Joker now has 1 Championship, 1 Finals MVP, 2 League MVP's, so does Giannis. It will be interesting to see who has the better career. As of now
Kevin Durant has more Championship's but played on loaded teams to get those. He is tough to rank because of that move he made to go to the Warriors. My eye test tells me he belongs in the top 20 players of all-time but that is debatable. LeBron's move to go to Miami in his prime is why he can never be the GOAT, JMO.
