-We got our SB win in 2006
-2 SB appearances = 2006, 2009
-5 AFC Title Game appearances = 1995, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2014

Had the "family franchise" Baltimore Colts not made a snowy 1984 midnight escape to Indy in Mayflower trucks you wouldn't have a home *Peyton Manning* team to root for! Very timely. I was born in Los Angeles in May of 1970 and MY family relocated to Garden Grove (right next to Disneyland), where I had a fuckin AMAZING childhood Raiders Dodgers and Lakers. Then, in 1981, I was forcibly relocated to the Bay Area - a shrewd twist, but it allowed me to see the stark differences between SoCal and NorCal sports fans. So in a way maybe you can understand the move to Vegas by Marc Davis from a different perspective than mine.
As the Baltimore (Maryland) Colts (1953–84), they won three NFL championships (1958, 1959, 1968) and one Super Bowl in 1971. The Colts originated from the dissolved Dallas Texans NFL team in 1953. In 1971 the Colts won their first Super Bowl, a 16–13 victory over - yep, the Dallas Cowboys.
Anyway, Carol Rosenbloom was a huge family gangster mogul from Baltimore, and under his ownership he ushered in a new way of doing business in football, and he ended up gifting the Rams to his wife Georgia Frontiere. He actually SWAPPED entire teams with Rams owner Robert Irsay, then famously moved the Rams from L.A. Coliseum to Anaheim. He allegedly was strangled while swimming in a clear-cut mob hit at the age of 72.
No sport more American than football.

Great stuff Rev, when the Colts were in Baltimore they had a great history as well. As a fan of the Indianapolis Colts I was really fortunate to have Peyton here for 14 seasons and then Andrew Luck to follow that up for 7 seasons. It is ashame that Luck's career got cut short but in his 1st 3 seasons he grabbed the keys from Peyton and it was like Peyton wasn't even gone = 3 straight 11-5 seasons and even an AFC Title Game. Unfortunately in the 2014 AFC Title Game it was a lopsided loss to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. I thought Philip Rivers played well in his 1 season here last year, as far as Carson Wentz goes last week was a disaster vs Seattle.
From 2003-2014 the Colts won more Regular Season games (134) and more Playoff games (12) than any other team except the Patriots in that 12 season stretch.. Only the Patriots, Steelers, and Giants won more SB's in that time frame. Steelers and Giants won 2 SB's, Patriots won 4. We won our SB in 2006! 2011 was the only bad season but because of that season we were able to Draft Luck in 2012. So I had a 12 season stretch that I will never forget that most fans can only dream about and it was just recently happened, not like 20 or 30 years ago.

I'm feeling more than happy to have distanced myself from the absolute train wreck that has become the Raiders. Never liked Jon Gruden, and owner Mark Davis is now culpable for his decisions as well. What a waste of time.
