Mike Tyson to box Roy Jones JR on Sept 12th. If Mike fought the heavy wt champ today he would knock him out too and become champ today. These guys now days are tomato cans lol.

In their primes, the best heavy wt's were:
1. Mike Tyson (1985-1988)
2. Muhammad Ali
3. George Foreman
4. Rocky Marciano
5. Joe Frazier
-the rest is just a guess what order they are in. I really liked Evander, he could take a punch and was a pure boxer with incredible stamina so he would be a strong candidate for 6th. He did beat Mike twice (late 90's) but Mike wasn't right. Mike seems like he is right now, been drug free for 10 years and is a different person, etc..

Don't even tell me Ali could beat 1987/1988 Tyson, no way that happens, it might go the distance but it would be Ali keeping his distance most of the fight. Evander would've got destroyed by 1987 Tyson as well.

Although nowhere near that level, I see Roy vs. Mike as reminiscent of Ali vs. Frazier. Roy is an Ali type - moving, dancing, on his bicycle, firing pinpoint shots and dishing out combos, looking for that damaging uppercut to do some real damage. Tyson is the stocky, hunched-over bull who takes his time and is patient, waiting for the opportunity to land a crushing hook or uppercut and then going in for the kill, all the while ducking and dodging the quick jabs from his opponent.

I haven't seen any footage of Roy prepping, but he was always my favorite post-80s boxer and I hope he's taking this seriously enough to look good and put on a good show. Last thing we need is another boring Mayweather farce.

Roy is one of my favorite boxers too. Pound for pound he belongs in the top 10 ever with Tyson, Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Julio Chavez, etc.. Roy doesn't need to be in the ring with Tyson though, Tyson is just too strong and Roy may even get hurt. Roy was fun to watch and could dominate middle weights but facing someone like Tyson is dangerous.
