In The Bubble: The chase for *17

Well here we go, Truefans! The restart of the Covid-hijacked 2020 season is upon us, as three preseason games begin tomorrow against the Dallas Mavericks. Although the games will be designated "Home" and "Away", all contests will be played in a protected facility in Orlando, Florida.

As we know, the Lakers were on a roll when play was suspended in March and they will have the same 5.5 game lead over the 2nd place Clippers when regular season play resumes on July 30th. Whether they can jump-start themselves and hold onto that #1 seed will be seen, but most analysts are now having a love-fest over our Purple and Gold squad and predict that they'll take the O'Asterisk trophy for what it's worth. Nobody's picking the Celtics -- which is half the battle :waaaaa: .

Yes, the pre-pandemic tragedy of Kobe and Gigi is still too close for comfort, and of course this second-season will be filled with visions and memories of them as they inspire both the franchise and the fanbase. Despite our years of criticizing and lambasting LeBron, he has done an EXCELLENT job in coming to the West and proving that he is the greatest player of his generation and perhaps of all time. Minus Avery Bradley, and perhaps without Rajon Rondo for the first few games, our team is formidable and stacked with veteran skill and savvy that - with health - should be able to outlast any team left in the hunt.

Throw on your masks and stay 6 feet away, fellas -- it's WINNING TIME!!!

Yep. It's winning time baby. If you threw 5 players in a hat and had to pick one out, that being Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Kobe, and LeBron you wouldn't go wrong. I think LeBron brings #17 to LA. It will be time for Kenny to post game threads again :kingclaphands:

Don't count the PUKES out, they have a deep team and a great coach. The Bucks should come out of the East but the PUKES are still dangerous. In the West it will come down to the Lakers and Clippers, it is the Clippers ok :roflmao: , we will beat them in 6.

I am watching, great seeing the guys back out there. Lakers lead 26-20 over the Mavs. Dudley getting some action. I like the piped in crowd noise, it sounds like fans in the stand.

I guess this game was played earlier :roflmao: . Shows everyone how much I have been working. I am just waking up after a long 60 hour work week. I see the Mavs won 108-104. Lakers took everyone out after leading by 11 at halftime. I am reading about it now. I am glad they are showing the game again though. James Worthy is even commentating.

Kenny if you don't have the time or wherewithal to post individual game topics, this can be the page for it. At the least, this can serve as a central dumping ground for all of our non-gametime commentary on how this strange "season" and looming playoffs is progressing. I'm freakin' excited!!!

Well . . our defense dominated most of the first half but the Clips got more organized and caught up. The second half will be the real game as the deadly and potent Clips know how to expose our more traditional halfcourt game. Our defense - and theirs - will be the difference . . not just tonight but until one of us reaches the Finals.

AD, 20 points at half. LeBron is struggling a bit but we are up 54-52. Half way home.

85-80 Lakers lead, they can't even beat us when LeBron is struggling lol. If LeBron was doing his normal, we would be up 15.

PG and Kawhi will get better as the season progresses. We really need ALL of our role players to be focused every night to assist LeBron and AD. Our defense looks sharp! We just need to keep our FG% up. Dumbass Dwight fighting with Zubac.
