Back in November of 1991, Magic was diagnosed with the HIV Virus and everyone thought it was a death sentence, 27 years later he is healthy, still living, and running our beloved franchise.
To quote myself, we have has so many Great players but I still have Magic #1. My List of Greatest Lakers
players of all-time remains (My Lakers Mount Rushmore):
1.
Magic Johnson2.
Kobe Bryant3.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, I have Kareem 3rd behind Kobe regarding just a Greatest Lakers list but IMO Kareem was the better player. His Bucks career isn't factored in here.
4. I honestly would put
Shaquille O'Neal here. Here's why - he is only 1 of 2 players in NBA history to win 3 Finals MVP's in a row and he did it with the Lakers in his prime.
Michael Jordan is the only other player ever to win 3 Finals MVP's in a row. Shaq won more Championships than Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain combined in a Lakers uniform. The Lakers gave Baylor a Ring for 1972 so if you count that, Shaq still won the same amount as the 3 of them combined.
