2018 NBA Free Agency

Let the games begin!

My prediction:

LeBron signs.

PG stays in OKC. To me his 3 part ESPN special, which I have not watched, is designed to be a reverse of "The Decision" that LeBron staged in 2010.

Boogie signs with us.

We overpay to get rid of Deng OR we waived and stretch him and trade for Faried and a #1 pick for future Kawhi trade purposes. Kawhi will be traded to us, but later.

We find a way to keep Randle. That can happen only if we don't do the Denver deal and we trade Deng or if the offers in the marketplace such and he signs his QO for 5.6 mil this season with a promise of a big contract next season when we can sign him for anything we want.

I am going to say LeBron signs and so does PG once that happens. Randle will re-sign as well. It's my understanding that teams can go over the Cap and pay the Luxury Tax as long as it's a player that is on your team already = Randle. I am almost certain I am 100% right on this as the Cavs have done it. Magic wants to win and so does Jeanie. So if Dan Gilbert didnt give a shit about paying a Luxury Tax by going 34 Mill over why should they? It's the Lakers man! We have enough under the Cap to sign LeBron and PG so that is a given.

Lineup should be
PG - Lonzo
SG - Ingram
SF - George
PF - LeBron
C - Randle
6th man - Kuzma

-Lonzo tore his Meniscus in his left knee but the team says it's not serious and he will be ready by the start of the season, so it's bad news but good news in the long haul. We can always play Hart for a while if need be who is under a cheap contract anyway and can play PG or SG if need be. With LeBron on the team does it matter who plays PG? Hart is an Above Average player and can fill in, in spurts. I don't like the idea of trading for Kawhi because we would lose Ingram and Kuzma more than likely, those guys are young and injury free + have All-Star potential written all over them. This lineup above to me can challenge anyone. I would say we finish 3rd in the West only behind the Warriors and Rockets.

Thomas Bryant waived. 47th pick in 2017, and a standout in the G-League, but clearly the Lakers are trying to clean up and lean up in preparation for veterans. Whatever's gonna happen has already been decided, I think - all that remains is for the day to come. Are we all prepared to accept LeBron James as our personal savior??

It's amazing how most Lakers fans on most websites are saying they are glad PG chose OKC because he chokes in the Playoffs. We have some butt hurt fans outside of this Site if that is their thinking IMO. PG has had some great playoff performances actually taking the Pacers to 2 Eastern Conference Finals. He was the best player on the Pacers in doing so as well. He lost to a freakin Superteam in LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Allen both years the Pacers made it. PG is a Top 15 player in the league, any Laker fan who wouldn't want him is just pissed now because he chose OKC - TRUTH WORDS. What have we done since 2010? We haven't made the Western Conference Finals since 2010 - the last time we won a Championship. There are teams paying the Luxury Tax going over the Cap like Cleveland and OKC who are small markets and we dont, LA is a huge market. Time for us to shit or get off the pot! Problem is if we trade for Kawhi we probably have to give up Kuzma and Ingram, I don't like that either. LeBron would be an exciting signing and get us in the Playoffs but he is going to be 34 this season. Boogie Cousins had a terrible injury, that is a gamble signing him as well.

Big signings so far:
George = 4 years, 137 Mill with OKC
CP3 = 4 years, 160 Mill with Houston
D.Jordan = 1 year, 24.1 Mill with Dallas
McDermott = 3 years, 22 Mill to Indy.
Isnt a Great player but is a much needed sharpshooter. Indy didn't have to pay much to get him either. He is a career 40% 3 point shooter.

The up to date Free Agency list Brethren!

NEVER thought that Paul George could carry The Lakers anyways. Did I want him on my team? Yes! Why? Because he’s from L.A. and he supposedly wanted to be here and play for the team he idolized as a kid. But since that was a lie! HE CAN SUCK IT!!!

I agree regarding he cant carry a team. As a Robin he is a perfect player though. Just like Pippen was to the Bulls. Imagine if PG and Kobe had played together, that would've been like Jordan and Pippen. PG is old news now so I guess he can suck it LOL. The problem with getting Kawhi is, I dont want to give up Kuzma and Ingram to get him. That and picks is what it will take IMO. If we only lose 1 of them and a bunch of picks than getting Kawhi would be worth it. LeBron will be 34 and although he is still the best player in the league, his time is getting shorter. I am about youth right now, 28 or younger so we can build something for the next 5-7 years. If we sign LeBron, we get maybe 2 great years from him and making the Playoffs but probably 0 Championships. The Warriors will be Great at least 2 more years.

Should we rejoice? LeBron James is a Laker, signs a 4 year deal for 154 mill. Remember Ken when you said I was being bold by saying "when he becomes a Laker". I nailed that one at least. I guess Magic took a shit and got off the pot :roflmao:. I am pleased but his age is a concern.

We have Magic Johnson now in office, players respect that. Jim Buss and Mitch weren't respected by this new generation. It took Magic to sign a Top 4-7 player of all-time and get us back on the map. We just re-signed KCP as well. I am happy about that, I like him better than Thomas, he is younger and a Good player.

I have always hated LeBron since he went to Miami, now I have to root for him :roflmao:. The world of sports, isn't it whacky? Hey we aren't chumps anymore. This upcoming season will be fun, LeBron still has 2 great years left in him IMO.

Remember when Aldridge was making fun of us, I bet he feels like a fool now being on that sinking ship in San Antonio :rofl4:. Kawhi doesn't even want to be there.
