NBA Finals Thread

Postby 3Peatkb24 » Tue May 29, 2018 1:10 pm

Not that too many people are interested in this Finals but I figured I would create its own Thread. I have Warriors in 6 over the Cavs 4-2. I have a funny feeling the Cavs will win 1 of the 1st 2 games and win 1 home game as nobody is giving them a chance. LeBron is playing out of his mind. Series will be 2-2 and then that is when LeBron and the Cavs run out of gas. Warriors just have too much talent to lose to the Cavs.

I think this Finals will be heavily watched despite a fourth consecutive W's-Cavs matchup. The Warriors are obviously heavy favorites, but with the way LeBron's fortunes have been, I wouldn't be surprised if the series is more competitive than it looks on paper. I would have preferred to see Harden vs. LeBron, but the Warriors have entirely too much talent to miss the Finals. What a shitty performance from beyond the arc by both Boston and Houston! Combined 9% from downtown in Game 7 by both teams! Very sloppy and one-dimensional basketball by both teams, and the Warriors weren't much better for most of the game as well.

Another step closer to the big moves of the off-season!

-Warriors up 1-0, 3 wins away from sending LeBron to a 3-6 Finals record. Demoralizing loss for the Cavs, they should've won as LeBron went for 51. Cavs played their hearts out and gave it everything. JR Smith has to be the biggest knucklehead in Basketball :roflmao:. If the Cavs had any chance at all to win the series it was getting Game 1 on the road playing the way they did tonight. They cant play any better as they even outRebounded the Warriors 53-38.

-Durant gets whistled for a Charge with 36 seconds left and it gets over turned per Replay. REFS change it to a Blocking Foul on LeBron. So instead of Cavs ball up 104-102, Durant goes to the FT Line and ties the game at 104-104. Now Cavs fans know how Pacers fans feel "lol4:. LeBron gets away with a Goaltend on Victor Oladipo which would've put the Pacers up by 2 late in Game 5 of that series. Instead no call and Cavs win at the buzzer in pivotal Game 5 to go up 3-2. REFS apologized the next day and said it was a Goaltend on LeBron. Nobody was crying for the Pacers and that cost the Pacers the series in reality. Had the Pacers been up 2, Cavs would've never shot a 3 at the end and more pressure would've been on the Cavs IMO. Plain and simple, what goes around comes around! Karma is a bitch sometime isn't it?

Hey maybe tomorrow the REFS will apologize for the over turn call on LeBron :roflmao:. Guess what, nobody gives a shit. Take your Loss like the Pacers did by getting cheated in Game 5. About time the Cavs don't have the REFS in their back pocket :kingclaphands:.

This is all anyone looks at and cares about:
Finals record:
Jordan 6-0
Kareem 6-4
Duncan 5-1
Kobe 5-2
Magic 5-4
Shaq 4-2
LeBron soon to be 3-6

Football wise, SB record for QB's in 52 SB's played:
Brady 5-3
Montana 4-0
Bradshaw 4-0
Aikman 3-0
-only 8 others have won 2 SB's as a Starter, Peyton was 2-2, at least .500.

Bradshaw and Aikman don't get the respect that Brady and Montana do . . it's funny that all these guys were pretty basic pocket passers with great ballhandlers to throw to. When Steve Young took over, it was like going from Ron Jaworski to Randall Cunningham! But it's the little game management decisions that QBs make that separate W's from L's.

Poor LeBron -- he was in perfect position to hit a game-winner and J.R. had a Hennessey-drinking moment :waaaaa:

Yeah as far as winning goes the rankings would be for Starting QB's: (SB era = 52 of them)
1. Brady 5-3
2. Montana and Bradshaw both 4-0 (tied for 2nd)
4. Aikman 3-0 = 3 ahead of him
5. Elway 2-3, out of the QB's that won 2 Elway went to the most SB's = 5
6. Peyton and Staubach both 2-2 (tied for 6th) - they both went to 4 SB's while winning 2.
-If a QB has the same amount of SB wins as a Starter, tiebreaker would be the amount of times getting there.

-Regarding LeBron, he would rank 7th on this NBA list as far as winning:
1. Kareem 6-4, went to 10 Finals
2. Jordan 6-0
3. Magic 5-4, won 5 and went to 9 Finals
4. Kobe 5-2, won 5 and went to 7 Finals
5. Tim Duncan 5-1, won 5 and went to 6 Finals
6. Shaq 4-2
7. LeBron soon to be 3-6, has edge on Larry Bird who was 3-2 because he's been 9 times
-Tiebreaker is Appearances if a player is tied in Championship wins.

1-8 without Kyrie.

Stephen A. believes LeBron is gone again. Vegas odds are 30-to-1 that he stays with Cavs. He can't go to Boston :fanshithit: . . would he join Philly? Bucks? Magic? Pacers? Raptors? If he's out of Cleveland, knowing that a healthy Celtics team is an overwhelming favorite to win the East, how can LeBron ride out the final few years of his career? My money is on the cream cheese Philly option.

As for Steph? He was, and frequently is, in GOD MODE at Oracle. He feeds off the fans and the moment. He was feeling himself so tough that when he tripped over Kendrick Perkins' feet he got in Perkins' face and gave him hell. Why is Perkins' huge butt even sitting spread-eagle with the players courtside? Get your old ass back a row!!

Jordan Clarkson went 28 DAYS without an assist (last one May 7th) before recording one in the Game 2 loss (probably in garbage time). IN THAT STRETCH, he went 16 for 56 from the field, including 6 for 21 from three. Larry Nance has had flashes of productivity for the Cavs, but Clarkson has just disappeared. Guess we got the better end of the deal -- great job, front office!

The Finals have been a joke :roflmao: "lol4: :rofl4:. Durant outplayed LeBron on his homecourt last night. Durant 43/13/7 on 15-23 shooting/LeBron 33/10/11 on 13-28 shooting. Durant with the big 3 in Clutch time, LeBron nothing in Clutch time. How anyone thinks LeBron is the GOAT is just asinine. Like I have said in the past I can make an argument that there have been 7 or 8 players better than him in NBA history.

I think what the Warriors and the rest of the NBA - including all of fandom - is realizing is that this Warriors team AS CURRENTLY CONSTRUCTED is just unbeatable. They may not be the best team of all time, but they certainly have no excuse (ok Draymond was suspended, whatever) for letting Kyrie and LeBron come back from down 1-3, which means they should be wrapping up a FOURTH STRAIGHT championship right now, which would be unprecedented in the modern NBA. If they can keep this team healthy and together for another 3 years, they will keep winning and certainly defeat Boston or whichever Eastern team makes it to the Finals. Only a seasoned team like LeBron's Heat squads would be able to handle these Warriors effectively enough to pose a threat.

Sorry for my absence, my brethren. My wife requires around the clock attention and I have to sneak work in when I can, so please bear with me. I hope everyone is doing well. This Warriors team is one for the ages and barring major injuries, there's no end in sight IMO. Then again, LeBron's team is shit and the Chowds and maybe even the 76ers will be loaded next season. Did anyone see that the Lakers are 14-1 odds to win it all next season, right behind the Chowds who are at 7-1? Someone in Vegas knows something!

I think Vegas is anticipating that the Lakers will sign PG and re-sign Randle. Our young guys now have experience as well. Lonzo will even be better in year 2. I still seriously doubt LeBron will come to the Lakers as he wants to win a Championship next year. His window is closing, he will be 34 next season. I see him trying to go to Houston because they are the closest thing to the Warriors. Houston will have to play around with the Cap a bit and maybe wont be able to re-sign Capela (perhaps dump Anderson's contract) if they bring LeBron in but to them that wouldn't be a big loss. That would be like trading Capela for LeBron. If the Rockets have a Roster with Harden, CP3, Gordon, Ariza, Nene, Tucker, and LeBron on it, they may be able to beat the Warriors.
