If LeBron James is on your team, you should at least finish in the top 8 of any conference. We have enough talent around LeBron to be at least an 8 seed. Kuzma, Ingram, Rondo, and Ball aren't scrubs. Lance, McGee, Hart, and Chandler are all good role players. Maybe Luke is the problem? I get we haven't been healthy for some of the season but I still think our record should be better.

Hindsight is always 20-20. Imagine if we had kept everyone (Nance, Clarkson, D-Lo, Randle, and now Zu) and just waited the damn thing out?

@Rev, lets make a friendly bet, if the Lakers make the Playoffs you have to change your avatar to the Cubs avatar we have in here for a month, if the Lakers do not make it I will change my avatar to the Dodgers avatar we have in here. Deal?

That is not a very good bet . . for you
By my estimation, the Lakers have to go 18-8 over their last 26 games in order to ensure a better-than-even shot at securing at least the 8th seed. The Spurs, Kings and Clippers are all going to be pushing hard to qualify, and none of them has as difficult a schedule as we do from here on. It would take a Miracle Mets finish for us to sneak in at this point -- if only NYC was here in my place you could bet him against his baseball team!
So here's the bet: If the Lakers somehow make the playoffs, I'll change my avatar to a picture of Lonzo Ball for the remainder of the NBA postseason . If they fail to make it, you have to change your avatar to a picture of Steve Bartman until Luke is fired or one of our young core gets traded - whichever comes first
How does that sound?

The LeBron injury along with the other missed games by our key core, mixed in with a disturbing inconsistency all year, combined with all the stupid trade drama and finished off by a harder schedule after the ASG, have us looking and feeling ridiculous. The players picked after Ball who are bonafide productive stars in the league now have our FO looking bad - not to mention the flourishing of Russell and Randle. Some of the one-year players (Rondo, McGee and Stevenson) along with Chandler and possibly KCP were probably going to move on anyway, so whatever happened this year may not have been the longterm plan anyway, but damn we are so starved for some NBA relevance that these latest concussions have us sick to our stomachs. At least the offseason will be . . uh, interesting!
lakerevolution wrote:No more Ingram. LeBron certainly didn't amaze after returning from his injury and is now no longer considered "the best player" in the current league. That's cool though - he's still a stat machine and is the best all-around player in the NBA, and I know he isn't here to lose games nor miss the playoffs. That being said, we HAVE TO be better next year or, like Kenny says, our entire franchise may have to have a major overhaul. No matter what, we have to stay true to our Lakers and keep hope alive that our fortunes will turn.
