Very informative article. Written before today's win over the Cavs.

Nice read! I just want to keep Randle and grow. They have so much cap space that with the improvement of this team, they will come. Just please re-sign Julius Randle! :xfingers:

Just a little perspective. The Minnesota Timberwolves who are like a year or 2 up on The Lakers in their “process”/rebuild were 31 & 51 last year. We have already won 30 games with 16 games left of the season. Minnesota this year will be anywhere from a 3rd seed to a 5th seed in this years playoffs!! The Lakers future is bright! Our young core must take another step up next year then you know somebody great is coming in free agency. I see us winning around 50 games next year!!! GO LAKERS!!!

I guess former overall #2 pick from my Alma Mater, Derrick Williams, is a Laker for now, too. He is one of the all-time more puzzling busts.

Yeah he was a hell of a talent. Very puzzling is to why he hasn't been at least a Good pro. George Hill who went to my Alma Mater at IUPUI has had a Good career. Reason I bring Hill up is, a lot of people thought he wouldn't make it in the Pro's. You just never know. I thought Okafor would be a Great Pro for example and he hasn't lived up to his billing.

This guy is going to be regarded as one of our best picks ever. I hope he stays here for a while.

Ok, time to start worrying about Randle.

Who will likely try and fleece him from us?

Will we match ANY offer, no matter how large?

Will he get his own shoe? :scared2:

I will be fascinated to see what approach Magic and Rob take this summer to keep Randle. Will they offer him a reasonable long term deal starting at around $18 mil per season or will they just make him the QO and let the market set his value and match. Before the season, I know that neither Magic nor Rob were Randle fans because Scott knows someone who plays volleyball with Luke and git that inside info. I was convinced that was true by virtue of the fact that they started the inferior Larry Nance, Jr. despite the phenomenal shape that Randle came into camp in. It took Luke too long to finally start Julius, too. So deep down inside, there might not be love flowing back from Julius to Magic and if he inks a huge deal with Dallas (or whomever), Aaron Mintz night ask the Lakers not to match. All I know is that this guy has All-Star written all over him and we must pay him. I do not envy the Lakers' front office this summer. If we can't unload Deng with a bunch of picks and $5.2 mil to clear cap space, sacrifices will be made.

This tweet belongs on this thread. It's not what we want to hear, but perhaps a blessing in disguise. I want to bring the band back!

This could be one of the most important signings in Laker history. Not since Lamar and then Pau were acquired to help Kobe get to the Finals have we had players like Randle, Kuzma and Ingram who can potentially be a huge part of our return to greatness. I say pay Randle what the market will bear and let him show his full All-Star potential. Fingers crossed.

"Randle has earned his chance to make himself into one of the best big men available in 2018, en route to playing all 82 games this season and putting to rest any remnant of a question of his durability after sustaining a horrific freak injury during his very first NBA game."
