“I was talking to my teammates about that the other day ... (about) playoff guys and taking over, and Kobe was one of those guys that it didn’t matter what happened. He’d go out there and do it. I watched the ‘09 series against the Jazz over and over again because the way he responded after losing in game three at home and he came out and hit like the first 11 points. That mentality is one that I’m trying to get in myself.”

Watching Kobe's playoff performances from '08 to '10 - and some of his epic regular season games during that stretch - should be every shooting guard's homework. Much like LeBron is willing his Cavs to victory, Kobe owned these years and cemented his legendary status.

NBAtv showed Kobe's entire career yesterday. His draft, the slam dunk championship, all the early playoff trouble, the threepeat, the Shaq/Kobe feud - including their personal interview - the 2001 48-point sweep game vs. Sacramento, the Ahmad Rashad interview, and of course the 60-point farewell game. Hard to believe he's 40 years old.

1200 more turnovers than Jordan.

3200 more 3pt shots than Jordan.

But he passed him in points. Kobe's next.

LeBron will eventually pass Malone too but I am not ready to say he will pass Kareem.
