GAME PREVIEW: QUEENS AT LAKERS[/size]

The Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, T-Mobile Arena, AEG and MGM Resorts International are teaming up to donate the proceeds from Sunday night’s NBA preseason game to help victims of the mass shooting on Oct. 1, the Kings announced in a release on Friday afternoon.

“To say we are united in grief does not fully convey the sadness we feel as we offer our deepest sympathies and support to those impacted,” said Sacramento Kings Owner and Chairman Vivek Ranadivé in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and everyone enduring this heartbreaking tragedy. Together we will remain Vegas strong.”

The donation will be conducted by the MGM Resorts Foundation, and all of the money will go toward supporting victims, their families and the first responders, according to the release.

The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at T-Mobile Arena.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this evil and senseless crime,” Lakers governor and controlling owner Jeanie Buss said in a statement. “While no one can erase the horrific actions of last Sunday, we are committed to doing everything we can to help the people of Las Vegas who were affected by this tragedy.”

Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson told the Review-Journal on Thursday that the team was planning on doing something for Sunday’s game but didn’t offer specifics.

“We’re trying to figure out how we can help the community,” he said. “So we’re going to make some special announcements at the game.”
