The Lakers' 2017 Draft and Summer Moves

A couple of things, I don't think Logo does much for the Clippers, JMO. They are already stacked with talent and cant win. He would have to make a huge trade that favors them and not sure he can at this point. That team needs to be broke up as no way they can hang with the Warriors, Spurs, or Rockets IMO. @Robert, Lonzo will be better than Rondo or Rubio, he can definitely put up CP3 kinds of stats. Kenny thinks Lonzo is the next Jason Kidd, I wont go that far with it but I think he can be just as great as CP3.

Golden State was recycling Matt Barnes and Capt Jackson before Logo came. And with one Steph and a lump of Klay, he created The Warriors. He gave us Gasol for Gasol, and Kobe, and Shaq. Jerry is earning his Logo status.

Latest word is Paul George has told his agent that he wants to be a Laker after this upcoming season. His agent has notified GM Kevin Pritchard of this. This is all factual has I have been hearing it all day locally. This obviously means we can get him for nothing after next season and keep our young core together. If the Pacers do trade PG this season hoping to get something, he can just walk from said team and still sign with the Lakers. This would be major for the Lakers franchise because PG can also draw other Free Agents in the summer of 2018 to join the Lakers. The Lakers potentially could be a loaded team in 2018-19 and by then the Warriors may be close to being more beatable and LeBron on the tail end of his prime. Just 2 days ago Paul George clearly stated he wanted to stay in Indiana and loved it there. He said he was proud to call them his team, not sure what has changed since Friday but something has?? What scares me is, what if Boston and Indiana make a deal and Boston gives up very little for George = a 1 year rental and that puts them over the top to win #18? Not sure anyone can beat the Warriors anyway but anything can happen in an 82 game season from injury to who knows what.

To add to this, the Pacers are going to become desperate now and may take as much as they can get for PG which may be very little. PG has hinted that he wants to play with LeBron in the past but I see nothing the Cavs can give the Pacers that is worth anything at all. Unless the Cavs give them Love and a pick, by giving up Love the Cavs would be giving up their best Rebounder and a good 3 point shooter that spreads the floor. Not sure they can beat the Warriors even with PG/without Love. I don't think so IMO. Like I said my biggest fear is he goes to Boston and Boston only gives up like Smart and Bradley and a late pick for example. I think Boston could beat the Cavs with Thomas, Horford, Crowder, their #3 pick, and PG added. PG always plays LeBron well and can match his scoring. Stevens is a great Coach as well and may even be able to convince PG to stay in Boston long term if they make the Finals? If that happens than the Lakers are screwed regarding getting PG.

Which is why I would part with Randle/Clarkson, if necessary, to let him grow with DLo, Ball, Ingram, Nance, Zubac NOW. It is better, IMHO, for him to start playing with our young core ASAP. We can attract another star this way and Boston doesn't get our 2018 pick.

Pacers saying they would deal with the Cavs but want a lot in return, wouldn't that defeat the Cavs purpose? A lot would mean at least Love and probably JR or Korver and picks is my guess? I am not sure what players would be involved, I haven't heard

When they talk about "a lot" these days for rebuilding teams, they're talking about draft picks and prospects, so the leaderless Cavs would have to involve a third teams to get the Pacers this "a lot" that they are talking about.

So far I love what Magic is doing, do you think any of this would be going on if Mitch and Jimmy were still running things? The best is yet to come IMO. Magic is about to make the Lakers into a powerhouse here shortly. It may take 2 or 3 years to win a Championship because it takes time for new cores to play together but I can envision it. Warriors probably have 2, maybe 3 years of greatness left but after that look out.
