Paul George seeking new start?

The Pacers have been probably the most underachieving team in 2017. They were projected as a Top 4 seed in the East coming into the season and they now are currently 9th at 37-39. George has been very unhappy off and on all season with the teams play and the Pacers did nothing at the trade deadline to get him help. George is from the Cali area and has mentioned he would love to be a Laker one day. He also idolizes the great Kobe Bryant! Question is if Magic and Bird wheel and deal what should the Lakers give up for him? Is giving up Russell, Randle, and a Top 3 pick (if the Lakers have that pick) enough? Not sure or should the Lakers even do that? I have feeling Bird would want Ingram in some sort of a deal because of losing George but not sure? If the Lakers traded for George and gave up Russell, Randle, and their pick they would sport a lineup of PG - Clarkson, SG - Ingram - put him at the 2, SF - George, PF - Nance, C - Zubac. That is a lineup before Free Agency keep in mind so they can still add another good piece. That would give the Lakers a SuperStar who is just entering him prime in George + Ingram and Zubac both would have a season under their belt and look to have great potential. Clarkson is solid good and Nance is a nice Role player. Just some food for thought guys.

That's too much to give up for a potential 1 year rental IMO Maybe we should just wait until free agency next year and we wouldn't have to give up anybody.

I took that into consideration and one thing I failed to mention in my Post was he would have to commit to at least 4 years otherwise I wouldn't do it and agree with you.

Clarkson is the only truly expendable one from our "core". Nance, Mozzy, the other bench dudes, ok. But unless somebody is willing to give up something GOOOD for Russ (Randle is a keeper), we need to hang onto our team for better or for worse. A Paul George is a perfect glue scorer for these young men, and D'Angelo just needs reliable star talent at his side. Jeannie needs to tighten her bra strap and do some serious building this summer. In Buss we Trust?
