Hello Magic, Goodbye Jim (obviously)

Magic has been highly critical of Jim Buss, so I suspect he'll be asked to resign sooner rather than later. I suspect Mitch will be relieved of his duties, too. Look for Ryan West to be the Lakers' next GM.

Love it, Magic is a big name and very smart. Players respect him. We will see how this pans out. I Posted I wanted Magic back in the organization a few days ago. I wonder if Jeanie reads our Posts :beavis:

Time to start to winning again. I just watched the 1992 All-Star Game again and the ending was so unbelievable you would think it was a movie. Magic stopped Isiah from scoring and stopped Jordan from scoring but he hit three 3's to end the game as well. The last one he just threw it in! Magic was so fucking Great it isn't even funny!

Jimmy Boy gave it a shot but unfortunately the apple did fall far from the tree when it comes to running the best franchise in sports. Now he can go back to training horses or whatever he did before with his childhood buddy with his jeans & baseball cap.

I think Magic is the best Laker of all-time. Kobe IMO was more athletic and holds most of the Lakers records and I love him too. He is the Mamba but Magic made everyone around him better, he was such a great leader. I never seen one better. Worthy could beat anyone one-on-one IMO, unstoppable.

Regarding just best Lakers of all-time I still have
1. Magic
2. Kobe
3. Kareem
But you have players like Logo, Elgin, Wilt, Shaq, Mikan, and Worthy as well - IN NO ORDER THERE, Logo should probably be 4th. I am pumped up now!

And the plot just thickens. I can only guess that Magic 1) has seen enough and let his disdain for Jimmy Boy drive him to seek a renewed spot, and 2) really thinks he has some skill to get our player personnel to catch fire.

I really don't like like how the last 5 seasons have transgressed. Transpired. Whatever. :waaaaa: Is that an understatement?

Nope. I am still furious at how Kobe's last years were wasted! I'm reading Showboat and starting to understand why Kobe was so misunderstood. The fact that his cerebral side was never understood by management (other than West), added to the horror we had to watch for years. I am ready to move on from JB and MK, myself.

If I were a betting man, I would wager that he's not wild about D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle or both.

Things could get interesting, then again we may just stand pat. We would be fools not to trade Russell if Cousins is part of a deal though. We have Clarkson and Lou who both are just as good if not better. If the Kings traded Cousins they would probably want Russell and another player and perhaps a Draft pick. I really want to keep Randle but Nance is more than capable of being a starting PF in the league. 1 guy I absolutely would not trade is Ingram, I think he has more upside than Russell or Randle. He is a tall Wing with length that can shoot so Ingram has huge upside. People can say what they want about Cousins, that he has an attitude problem, he doesn't win but he is better than anyone we have and would bring Star power to the team. He is the best Center in the league and would average 30 and 12 easily on our team. He is already at 28 and 11.

Magic has a ton going on, but he is aware that Randle and Russell are integral parts of the rebuilding process.

See the Dodgers and Sparks. Magic is just a business man who will listen for

Magic: “When I think about the Lakers and where we are today, I know it’s going to take some time. It’s going to take three to five years to get them back rolling again, but if we’re patient, if we develop our own players — because now in today’s NBA it’s different than when I played, because free agent movement is not like it used to be, and so you really have to make sure you try to hit a home run when you do draft, and that you really try to keep the players that you draft on your roster.”

Translation: Who KNOWS what he is thinking?!! I will say this much. We already have 1. Randle 2. Clarkson 3. Russell 4. Nance 5. Ingram 6. Zubac 7. Black on multi-year deals. That is a LOT of youth, so trading one of them for a veteran in his prime isn't going to make us much older. That's why I think when Magic talks about us GOING in the wrong direction, it means he doesn't like one of the youngsters. Alternatively, he could mean that none of the 30+ guys should be on the roster or in the rotation. We know that Moz and Deng will be very difficult to move and that Nick and/or Lou won't net us much (although I don't know why a team who is competing for a chip wouldn't want Lou Williams and his friendly contract for next year).

I see us going in the RIGHT direction, personally, but that's just loyal to a fault, patient me.
