That is probably his idea and ESPN is hyping the rumor up but I don't see it. LeBron isn't going to a team where he cant win it all. Unless West can get PG-13 and LeBron both to put with Jordan and Lou that team cant contend. West needs both LeBron and PG-13. I bring up PG-13 because he is from Cali.

-3Peat's daily NBA news and notes. We are through January folks and the All-Star break is right around the corner. That means the stretch run is almost here.

Here are the current Eastern Conference Seeding's through January and Eastern news:
1. Boston Celtics 37-15
2. Toronto Raptors 34-15
3. Cleveland Cavaliers 30-20
4. Miami Heat 29-22
5. Washington Wizards 28-22
6. Indiana Pacers 29-23
7. Milwaukee Bucks 27-22
8. Philadelphia 76ers 24-24
-A lot can change from now to the end of the season. Look how bunched up the Heat/Wizards/Pacers/Bucks are? The East is actually exciting for a change considering the Cavs look beatable as well. Kevin Love looks to be out 6-8 weeks with a fractured hand for the Cavs. John Wall for the Wizards looks to be out 6-8 weeks as well due to a knee problem that he just had surgery on.
-The surprise team in the East still continues to be the Indiana Pacers at 29-23. They were projected by most ESPN experts to only win around 35 games and miss the Playoffs after trading Paul George. With George the Pacers were 42-40 and played 4 competitive games against the Cavs in last years Playoffs. They could go as bad as 6-24 the rest of the season and meet that 35 win mark.

Western Conference Seeding's through January and Western news:
1. Golden State Warriors 40-11
2. Houston Rockets 36-13
3. San Antonio Spurs 34-19
4. Minnesota Timberwolves 32-22
5. Oklahoma City Thunder 30-21
6. Portland Blazers 29-22
7. New Orleans Pelicans 27-23
8. Denver Nuggets 26-25
-Boogie Cousins is out for the season with an Achilles injury which could derail the Pelicans from making the Playoffs. The LA Clippers are currently 25-25 in the 9th spot but they just traded Blake Griffin so the West is wild as usual! The Golden State Warriors are once again the team to beat in the entire league at 40-11. Can anyone beat them if they stay injury free?
-The surprise team in the West so far is the Minnesota Timberwolves. They were 31-51 last season and currently sit at 32-22 winning more games already than they did last season.
-The LA Lakers are currently 19-31 and are on pace to win 31 games if anyone is wondering. That is my up to date Lakers news.

Getting ready to head out of town for the SuperBowl. Heading to a place called Four Winds. It's a very nice Hotel/Casino. Staying 2 days = today and tomorrow - check in time around 1pm. Will gamble all day, drink like a fish, and watch the SB there tonight, then will chill out tomorrow as my room is free on Monday - just lay there all day :roflmao: . They are having a nice spread for the SB regarding food and drinks. Going with a friend and the room rate is reasonable for SB Sunday, it is only $109 and tomorrow is free! That is great for a hotel like that.

Now to the NBA News and Standings as of February 4th/SuperBowl Sunday:

Top 5 teams in the Eastern Conference as of now
1. Celtics 38-15 (Per NBA, chance of winning the East 38%/chance of winning it all 16%)
2. Raptors 35-16 (Per NBA, chance of winning the East 30%/chance of winning it all 5%)
3. Cavaliers 30-21 (Per NBA, chance of winning the East 30%/chance of winning it all 5%)
4. Wizards 30-22 (Per NBA, chance of winning the East 2%/chance of winning it all 1%)
5. Pacers 30-24 (Per NBA, chance of winning the East 2%/chance of winning it all 1%)

Top 5 teams in the Western Conference as of now
1. Warriors 41-12 (Per NBA, chance of winning the West 45%/chance of winning it all 35%)
2. Rockets 38-13 (Per NBA, chance of winning the West 41%/chance of winning it all 30%)
3. Spurs 34-21 (Per NBA, chance of winning the West 10%/chance of winning it all 5%)
4. Timberwolves 34-22 (Per NBA, chance of winning the West 2%/chance of winning it all 1%)
5. Thunder 30-23 (Per NBA, chance of winning the West 2%/chance of winning it all 1%)

Have a Great SB Sunday, I am out. Go Eagles!

It just seems like a very blah year for the NBA in general. Fully out of the Kobe and Tim Duncan era, trying to live off of the glow of LeBron's fading act and the sure-thing Warriors, banking on the success and popularity of veterans like Harden and CP3 and youngsters like the Greek Freak . . while Ginobli and Nowitski are just padding stats toward likely HoF inductions. While Danny Ainge and the Celtics figured out the way back to the top rather quickly and efficiently, our Lakers have gone through just about every up and down imaginable and are still looking up from down at the bottom. It's not just homerism to say that the NBA is at its best when the Lakers are in the running. Maybe Magic and Silver can figure something out to get the REAL Golden team back to the state it should be in.

Pacers beat the Celtics in Boston last night 97-91. Oladipo scored 35, Celtics are definitely beatable. It wasn't even the case of the Pacers hitting everything, Pacers were only 5-20 from 3 and still won. When you play Great Defense you always have a chance to win.

3Peat's NBA News and Standings as of February 13th. We are just a couple of days away from the All-Star break believe it or not and here's what's up:

Eastern Conference Standings - Playoff teams as of now
1. Raptors 39-16
2. Celtics 40-18
3. The LeBron 33-22
4. Bullets 32-24
5. Bucks 31-24
6. Pacers 32-25
7. 76ers 29-25
8. Heat 30-26
9. Pistons 27-29 outside looking in

-Are the Raptors for real? Are the Celtics overrated? Will The LeBron win the East again? Can teams like the Bucks and Pacers actually shock a team or 2 and go far in the Playoffs?

Western Conference Standings - Playoff teams as of now
1. Warriors 44-13
2. Rockets 42-13
3. Spurs 35-23
4. Timberwolves 35-24
5. Thunder 32-25
6. Blazers 31-26
7. Nuggets 30-26 - has tiebreaker over Pelicans
8. Pelicans 30-26
9. Clippers 29-26 outside looking in

-Can anyone dethrone the Warriors from being the Champs come Playoff time? Can the Rockets be the team to take down the Warriors come Playoff time? Has anyone noticed but the Jazz have won 10 in a row, I didn't even notice that until tonight :roflmao:. They are now 29-28 above .500! They are 10th in the West and only 1.5 games behind the Pelicans and Nuggets.

-Lakers news = Lakers are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a 23-32 record. They are on pace to win 34 games which would be 8 more than last seasons 26 wins.

Well done, 3Peat. I doubt that the Lakers can climb 3 spots, especially the way the Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets and Pellies are playing. It's too bad, really. I'm also skeptical that the Lakers will win one of the next two games because incorporating a player like Isaiah Thomas into Luke's defensive minded system is like throwing a big wrench into it. We know that Brad Stevens was able to adjust to him, but that took time. I'm guessing that Luke and the staff is watching a lot of 2016-17 Chowds film. They probably have a bucket nearby puking while they watch.

Good work 3Peat. The outside looking ins are all better than us, but of course they should be. We haven't found the Jeannie Buss Magic yet, and much of the disappointment of this season will hinge on Lonzo not proving himself and Clarkson/Nance immediately balling with LeMange (notice how his beard gets more Harden-like as the mange on the back of his head spreads :hobbes: ) . . yet I digress :willie:

In the West, Pop seems to be losing his groove at the Alamo -- definitely not Daniel Boone-ish but I guess his outwardly leftist opinions in Texas may be wearing on not only him but his team's fanbase. It's been an incredible run for arguably the best coach not named Phil.

It's the healthy Warriors vs. the Houston we-have-a-problems in the West by a longshot, and the East is now a totally tubular tossup between LeBeard's new-look Cavs and the suddenly anemic (yeah bad reference but fuck it) Celtics. I don't think Canada is a raptor-factor in this Make America Great Again NBA.

Anybody heard from American Gothic Silver?

We'll be back in the playoffs next year, so I don't really care who wins this year. It's the Warriors' Larry'O to lose, and we all saw them give up a 3-1 Finals lead for the first time since Jesus went up against Pontius Pilate (yes another bad reference but fuck it) so things could get either get Bay Area Sodom and Gomorrah-ish or LeBron could just part the Red (well ok Crimson) Sea and let his people go win another title for the God-forsaken hell they call Cleveland.

-Thanks Ken and Rev, I love doing these updates. They are fun to me. Looks like the other team I root for besides the Lakers are going into the break pretty hot at 33-25. That being the Pacers, Pacers wont win the NBA Championship or even the Eastern Conference in 2018 IMO but they are damn fun to watch and I would label them a Good team. They are only a half game out of the 4th Spot in the East. Victor Oladipo is most definitely a Top 20 player in the league now. That Indy trade turned out to be pretty even which I would've never thought in a million years that would be the case when it happened. PG-13 is a Great player and Top 20 as well but the Pacers also got Sabonis in that deal and he is Above Average at worse. If Myles Turner who is Good can become an All-Star next season, the Pacers may have something sweet brewing in the future. That guy is gifted and only 21 years old.

-The Celtics have hit a wall which is Great news as I hate them like we all do. They lost again tonight and are now 40-19. Meanwhile the Raptors are 41-16 = 2 games ahead of them for the #1 Spot in the East. Celtics very well may not even get out the East with the way the Raptors are playing and with the trade the Cavs made. LeBron looks rejuvenated after that trade. I have to admit if the Cavs win the East it will be odd seeing Clarkson and Nance in the Finals!

After tonight's 2 games, the All-Star break begins. Here are my Awards at the All-Star break - let me know what you think.
*Rookie of the Year = Donovan Mitchell. How the Jazz are 30-28 is a miracle and he is the main reason why averaging 19.6 Points on 44% shooting, and 83.6% from the FT line. Ben Simmons gets consideration but he has Joel Embiid to give him a lot of help. After the Jazz lost Gordon Hayward and George Hill coming into the season, a lot of people had the Jazz winning around 30 games. They have won 30 already and are only 1.5 games out of a Playoff spot.

*DPOY = Paul George. Leads the league in Steals averaging 2.2 a game and the Thunder are 33-26 currently 5th in the West.

*Coach of the Year = Mike D'Antoni. Cant see how this can be debated as the Rockets have the best record in the league at 44-13. He has made the CP3/Harden thing work.

*Most Improved Player of the Year = Victor Oladipo. This guy has turned into a SuperStar over night! Pacers are currently 33-25 and 6th in the East.

*MVP = James Harden. He leads the league in scoring at 31.3 per game and is on the team with the best record in the league.
