Wow. Unexpected. Sounds like Luke wants MWP around IN UNIFORM!

I didn't expect this either. Looks like Ronny(MWP) makes it! Maybe Luke thinks it's good for the team just having his presence around? He can still defend too.

Yeah, that's an example of great journalism - upbeat, creative, inventive. And hopefully it's accurate and prescient, for Nick and for us. If he still craves to be more of a star, he may have to do it on another team . . or he can continue to be a glue-guy off the bench and help us keep climbing that ladder -- if the money is right.

David Murphy used to post on the LA Times blog. He's a great guy. I don't know him personally, but I am friends with him on Facebook. The Bleacher Report gives him his instructions in terms of topics to write on, but he tales it seriously. You may recall that he had a blog called "Searching for Slava." Great stuff.

Yes it was a nice read. Dave M is a Good writer and really respected by Lakers fans. Hopefully Nick Young flourishes in Luke's Offense. Sometimes a Coach can make all the difference in the world for a player.

So our final Roster looks like this:
Probable starters
Russell - PG
Clarkson - SG
Deng - SF
Randle - PF
Mozgov - C

Williams - SG/PG (main key guy off the bench)
Ingram - SF (main key guy off the bench)
Nance - PF (main key guy off the bench)
Black - PF/C (main key guy off the bench)
Calderon - PG (main key guy off the bench)
Huertas - PG
Zubac - C
Young - SF/SG - yeah he made the Roster!
Robinson - PF
Ronny(MWP) - SF/PF, Ronny made it :kingclaphands:
This looks like our 15 folks!
Surprise cut was A. Brown.

I would like to see a starting 5 of Mozgov, Randle, Deng, Russell and Nick Young. He's been playing great defense and shooting lights out from 3, so why not have a 6'7" shooting guard playing off D'Angelo Russell? Clarkson and Russell have never looked comfortable playing alongside each other, which is something that Luke obvious agrees with and why Lou Williams probably started with Clarkson last season. Their skills do overlap, but there's no question that Russell has a bigger upside. Clarkson plays his ass off, works hard and appears to have a nice career as a solid rotation player ahead of him, but I like the idea of him bringing energy off the bench with Ingram, Nance, Black, Lou Williams and Huertas/Calderon.

I suppose we can kill this roster thread soon enough and move on to GAME 1 tomorrow night! I'll probably record the game and watch it after Game 2 of the World Series though.

Russell
Nick
Deng
Randle
Mosgov
Would be ideal.
JC
Lou
Ingram
Nance
Black

Is a potent energetic bench
With
Jose
Marcelo
Metta
Robinson
Zubac all having roles at some point
Julius Russell

Cubs cruising in the 8th . . as we now know our squad, I suppose this thread is half-obsolete, or could serve as our 411 for roster/lineup changes as injuries (and/or trade rumors) alter the landscape.

Now that we - and the rest of the NBA - see what we are (and are not) working with, I believe that the #1 goal for Luke, Mitch and the young core is to perform consistently well enough to expose what kind of star power would be best to take us to that next level. We likely will part with one of our youngsters and certainly one of our veterans, to continue rebuilding this proud franchise.

"You have to have assets; cap room alone is overrated," Kupchak said. "I think if you talk to teams in the NBA for the last four or five years that have had all kinds of cap room, it's a stressful situation. Because you've got to go out there and pay non-max players, you've got to overpay to get somebody, depending on the city. And you might not get somebody. And then you kick the can down the road a year and try to do the same thing next summer."

I wish they would waive MWP, make him an assistant coach, and re-sign Anthony Brown. Someone will benefit from this D/3 kid .. like Pop. Just watch.
