Mic'ed up Okafor sounded just as mousey as Russell, and our #2 pick will be ok. Clarkson is good to have and Lou looks focused, so I'll give the rook 20 games to show more reliability. Film, film, film. It's gonna be a grind.

Nash, Ray Allen.
Let him develop.

I didn't see it, but I am guessing that the pourous second unit defense was a major contributing factor. However, this team showed grit when they roared back in the last 2 minutes of the game and had Lou Williams' floater dropped as it normally does, the narrative from Lakers fans callnig this a TERRIBLE LOSS and asking for Byron Scott's head would have been different. That was a fantastic play call at the end of the game made for a player who loves those situations. Randle also showed his mettle down the stretch and I suspect that D'Angelo Russell will also as time goes on. As for Russell, if Lakers fans are incapable of having patience, they should not watch the games this season.
Finally, I really don't want to listen to or read any short-sighted knee jerk reactions to a journey that has just begun. I realize that D'Angelo Russell could be a bust, but he could also develop into a superstar, so please chill. We can all see his VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY early career struggles, so why bother mentioning what our eyes can see? If fans of any NBA organization should have perspective and patience, it's us. The loss hurt as did Kobe's obvious rust (the real reason we lost the game), but it was the first game of a season that is unlikely to see us play past April. A lot of good things happened last night with this newly formed team and, unlike last season when that rag tag team wasn't our future, it is important to focus on baby steps now. It's really important NOT to focus on Jahlil Okafor either. His team got blown out by an above average (for the Eastern Conference) Celtics team, so someone had to score some points for Philly. Yeah, I wanted him, too, but you can't cry over spilled milk ...
Yet I digress ...
