Wow we are in a great place in terms of young guys and vets. If only we had 1 or 2 guys in their prime.

It's funny, but they're either 18 - 24 or 30+. Terrence Jones is out there and he's an EXPERIENCED 24, so maybe he's being considered. But you are right. It would have been nice to get a 27 or 28 year old player in free agency, but beggars can't be choosers! Also, in 4 seasons, when the toddlers are in their prime, we will be able to attract other players in their prime, except that the salary cap will probably make things difficult on us by then. Maybe it will happen before then.

So is the "fire Mitch and Jim" train parked in the station for the time being?

I think we are at a roster of 14 right now. That is Mitch's MO, so I don't expect any more moves unless someone tempts him with a decent trade.

(Some of us with little sand in the hour glass want to get one more title to at least tie the hated Greenies. I believe Mitch and Jim have played their best hands already and new blood is needed to deal with this WWE-AAU-NBA. Mitch is like me, too old-school, and not likely to figure out these idiot millennials. Jim seems out of his depth and either go do something else for the family or move in fresh-non-Buss blood - Magic comes to mind as a Laker-blooded GM's boss. 10 more f-in years of watching D-League quality bball is beyond imagination, for me. :pullhair: )

I'm pretty much in agreement with Nuggz on this. I don't believe that Jim Buss is who Lakers Nation has painted him out to be because in truth the fans know next to nothing about him and how he and Mitch collaborate on decisions, but the mere fact that he has a stigma makes it important for Jeanie to change things at the top of basketball operations in my view. No disrespect for either man, but I don't think that Mitch has figured out how to swim in these new waters and I also question whether how much fire he has left. I'd like to see what Ryan West can do. Our draft picks are largely a result of his scouting from what I understand. Then again, how these youngsters will turn out is still up in the air.
