I thought I'd start this common sense thread.

Guess what, fellas? We had the best off-season of any team not controlled by Jeannie's fiance. The Lakers got the Coach, assistants, future all-star draft pick and seasoned players they needed in this gradual rebuild, and retained the core that is the engine behind the renewed success.

Gentlemen, start your engines . . .

Walton - Shaw - Buechler - Madsen. Triangle guys? Who knew?!! Mozgov = Longley = Perdue

I wonder if Fish or MWP are next, although MWP admitted that he never quite understood the triangle.

The new Big 3 = Calderon, Mozgov, and Deng! I wonder what this means for Huertas? We already have Russell, Clarkson, and Lou and now Calderon. We are making some strange moves IMO, I like Huertas better than I do Calderon. Calderon is 34 years old and we didn't even need another Guard, his contract is what like 8 Mill a year. At least he is a Free Agent at the end of next season like Roy was this last season. At least we helped the Bulls so Wade can go there because had Wade went to Cleveland that would've needed to be investigated.

This was a very smart move. We get two 2nd round picks to trade later, a competent back up for Russell who can shoot the three and his expiring contract. He's a great locker room guy and knows the triangle (yes, that will be taught by Luke and his staff along with the up tempo stuff). Mitch just filled a one year deal by getting a competent player and a couple of assets with it. Our rebuild is a long one, so I love this.

As for Huertas, who knows. Right now our guards are Russell, Clarkson, Lou Williams and Calderon. There are 3 roster spots open: pf, sg, pg. It wouldn't surprise me to see Bass return, but we'll see. I have no idea for the 2 guard spots.

Once I realized his contract was expiring it made more sense but where does this leave Huertas? I thought Huertas gave us solid minutes last season.

I am pretty much done saying anything negative about our moves. The FO is going to do whatever they want anyway so it's not worth my breath anymore to bitch about anything LOL. In positive news, Ingram has blown away his teammates on how great he looks on the court is what I have been reading. I have said I think he will be our best player moving forward and having a guy like that could help Russell become much better. Russell now has a player that he can play with that has the potential of becoming a SuperStar. Randle will be Good IMO but the upside Ingram has is off the charts.

I edited my post. Huertas is 33 and isn't exactly a difference maker. May not fit what Luke wants to do. Terrible defender.

Yeah I read it. Calderon is the better player anyway and both are about the same age. I liked Huertas though.

Also, Mitch can turn around and trade him right away if he wants. No waiting period. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, enjoy this!
