Lakers to have dinner with Brandon Ingram on Wednesday

The Los Angeles Lakers' dinner on Wednesday night could be a preview for meals for years to come. According to Broderick Turner of the L.A. Times (in a larger feature on D'Angelo Russell), "[Brandon Ingram] is scheduled to have dinner with team officials Wednesday night and then have a private workout for them Thursday."
This won't be the Lakers first interview with Ingram. The team reportedly met with the 19-year old at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, so this dinner will continue the team's attempts to get to know the player they are widely projected to select with the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
The Lakers had dinners like this with most of the top draft prospects they worked out last season, but there will be one key difference this time around: it's unlikely any high ranking members of the coaching staff will attend the meal. While last year's dinners involved then-head coach Byron Scott, soon-to-be head coach Luke Walton is still finishing his current duties as a Golden State Warriors assistant coach and will be unable to attend.
How much does that little detail ultimately matter? Probably not much, considering the front office will be the ones ultimately making the final decision on who the Lakers will select given how little time Walton would have had to watch their tape while he was with the Warriors this season, but it is worth noting.
Whoever is there, hopefully there is no price limit set for Ingram's meal. The skinny forward needs all the food he can get before playing his first game against pros next year.
