I think you are more like the 98 Yankees. The only team IMO that can beat you is my Cubs. Nationals always choke! Something about the Astros that doesn't do it for me, Indians always choke as well. I think if you played the RedSox or Yankees in the WS, you just simply have more talent.

Cubs are at 63-56
Brewers at 63-59
Cards 61-59
-What I like about this is, the Cubs are really 3 ahead of both teams because of the loss column. If the season ended today the Cubs would be the 3 Seed and would play the Nationals in the Divisional Round = best of 5. I love my chances there, Bryce Harper may miss the rest of the Regular Season as well. He will be rusty going into the Playoffs after his leg injury.

I do want to add to this, the Brewers are getting on my nerves :roflmao: :scream:

Cubs lost by a FieldGoal today 13-10 to Cincy :roflmao:, still in 1st place but man the inconsistencies! This should be the Dodgers year, if the Dodgers don't win it this season they may never win it with this core. Cubs are the Champs but have been very inconsistent all season.

Cubs win today, Big Jake picks up the win. Cubs still hold a 1.5 game lead over the Cards in the NL Central and 2 games over the BrewCrew. Cubs at 64-57, Cards at 63-59, and BrewCrew 63-60. Out at mom's celebrating my late B-Day which was a few days ago but off this weekend so she wanted to cook for me tonight. I just ate a feast - Salmon Patties, Mac N Cheese, Corn on the Cob, and Green Beans with Bacon out of the crock pot. Cheese Cake for desert. Cubs won today too, that was the cherry on top! Mom wrote me a 500 dollar check and my step Dad bought me a half gallon of Crown, a half gallon of Crown is 50 freakin dollars here in Indy :roflmao:. I just worked 70 hours this week, so this was what the doctor ordered being off now and being out here at my parents. I am getting tanked up in my old room and they are down stairs sleeping :beavis:

These Playoffs coming up will be a true test to see where the Cubs stand in Baseball history. I think we beat Apollo Creed last season in the Dodgers who were the best team we played. We beat Clubber Lang in the WS that was the Indians, just wore them out at the end. Now we will face the Dodgers again who are Drago on steroids which will take everything we have to beat them. I have Jake on my side + Bryant, Rizzo, Zobrist, and Baez. Lets not kid ourselves we all know that is who it is going to be when dust settles in the NLCS. Whoever wins the NLCS will win the WS.

Great night for the Cubs, they win and Cards lose. Standings now in the NL Central are:
1. Cubs 65-57
2. Brewers 64-60 (2 back), 3 back in the loss column
3. Cards 63-60 (2.5 back)
-Cubs have a little breathing room now.

Cubs are now 10 games above .500 after last nights win at Cincy. They are 2.5 games ahead of the Brewers and 4.5 ahead of the Cards in the NL Central. Since the All-Star break the Cubs are 24-12.

Giants have been decimated with injuries. When they lost Bumgarner for that period of time, they lost their leader/mojo. I think the Dodgers and Cubs are on a collision course to play in the NLCS. Cubs are on fire right now and are starting to increase their lead in their Division. They have been winning without their 3rd best player in Contreras (Bryant/Rizzo only better), when he comes back that will make the Cubs even much better. Lester has been on the DL as well.

Playoff teams heading into August 24th:
American League
East
RedSox 73-53 (2 Seed)
Yankees 68-57 (WildCard 4 Seed), 4.5 back for Division lead

Central
Indians 69-56 (3 Seed)
Twins 65-61 (WildCard 5 Seed), 4.5 back for Division lead

West
Astros 77-49 (1 Seed)

National League
East
Nationals 75-49 (2 Seed)

Central
Cubs 68-57 (3 Seed), lead Division over Brewers by 3.5 games

West
Dodgers 89-36 (1 Seed)
Diamondbacks 69-58 (WildCard 4 Seed)
Rockies 68-58 (WildCard 5 Seed)

The WildCard games in each League would be Rockies at Diamondbacks in the NL, Twins at Yankees in the AL. 1st Round matchups would be Cubs at Nationals in the NL/best of 5, Indians at RedSox in the AL/best of 5.

Fun facts
-Cubs now have a better record than the Diamondbacks and Rockies, by % points over the Diamondbacks but they do. Cubs also have the same record as the Yankees.

Since Joe Maddon has took over for the Cubs at the beginning of the 2015 Season, they have a record of 268-180 in the Regular Season = 59.8 winning%. Cubs over the last 3 seasons are winning basically 60% of the time in the Regular Season (that equates to winning 97 games a season over 3 seasons). Playoff runs include making it to the NLCS in 2015 and winning the WS in 2016. Cant wait to see how 2017 ends. FUN STUFF!

-I LOVE BASEBALL!

Los Angeles upped its record to a major-league best 90-36, becoming the 12th team in big-league history to reach the 90-win plateau in 126 games.
