He gave up the only runs of the series, as our bullpen stepped up and held the Cubs at bay. That's the key to going deep in the playoffs, and yes I agree that the Rockies and D-Backs will be caught and surpassed, and that our toughest challenges will be the Nats and Cubs, just like last year. It's (un)officially MLB summer now, even if the NBA Finals hasn't started yet! I'm not going to jinx my Dodgers by picking them to go to the Big Dance, but WOW it sure would be nice to finally see them get back.

The only thing that really concerns me about Kershaw is he has struggled in the Playoffs in big moments. This season the Dodgers seem pretty focused so far though. He struggled a bit yesterday but it was law of averages the Cubs were going get some runs after being shutout twice. The Dodgers are one of my favorites to take it all this season. Nats have a lot off fire power but they choke every season. I think in the end it will come down to Dodgers/Cubs again but you guys will probably have HFA this time. That is just my early guess. June is just approaching so we will see.

Nothing to worry about about Kershaw. He'll lead the league in ERA once again for the 4th year in a row and take home a 3ed CY Young award. We just need to give him more rest during the playoffs instead of riding his back like a donkey

If the season were to end today, Dodgers would have HFA throughout the NL! They are now 33-20.

Nats just beat the Giants so technically they would have HFA by %points over the Dodgers now. Nats are at 32-19 .627/Dodgers 33-20 .623. I bet you Dodgers fans love the fact the Giants are stinking it up so far, MadBum's injury has that team in bigtime disarray.

Cubs cant buy a win, Jake Pitches great and they still lose! Being a World Champion is tough, everyone brings their A game against you. How the Yankees won 3 in a row from 1998-2000 is nothing short of amazing because in Baseball a lot of things can go wrong and a lot of luck is involved in winning.

Cubs just beat the Cards. Huge early divisional win to end the losing streak. Brewers play the Dodgers later tonight, Go Dodgers! Cubs are only 2.5 out of 1st place in the NL Central with a ton of season left.

June starting out nicely! Cubs win 2nd straight over Cards and move ahead of them at 27-27. Just 1.5 out of 1st place now in the NL Central behind the 29-26 Brew Crew. Nothing like beating our arch rivals! I need the Dodgers to beat the Brew Crew like they did last night, if so that would put the Cubs only 1 game out of 1st. Despite struggling the Cubs have done what they have needed to do so far, that is stay at .500 for the 1st 2 months. Now that we are in June it's time to get rolling.

Nice job by the Dodgers today! With the Brewers losing the Cubs are now only 1 game out of 1st place in the NL Central.
1. Brewers 29-27
2. Cubs 27-27
3. Cards 26-27
-these are the current standings in the NL Central. The NL West is freakin loaded, if the Cubs were in that Division they would have their hands full trying to win that Division with the Dodgers, Rockies, and DBacks all with great records so far. The Nats have a great record too in the NL East, it's only early June and that Division is already over :roflmao:. Mets stink this year, Nats have a 10.5 game lead over the Mets and the Mets have all kinds of injuries.

Yankees rookie left hander Jordan Montgomery through 6 innings of shutout ball today en route to a 7-0 Yankees win! 4 more homers! If Montgomery and Severino are the real deal, I have no doubt that something very special is cooking in the Bronx again. Much like the Lakers, you can't keep the Yankees down forever.

Forgive me for not mentioning the AL earlier but your Yankees are definitely for real. When they came to Wrigley and had that 3 game sweep I knew then they had something. They won by hitting a HR in the 9th, they won in 18 Innings, etc.. I really like Judge, he is scary good. They are still playing Good consistent ball and have a nice 3 game lead over the RedSox in the AL East. Yankees sit at 32-21 = a Great record early on, Sox 30-25. Orioles keep hanging around too at 29-25, Sox just beat them tonight though.

Houston is playing like they're on steroids - in a weak division, mind you - so the NYY/HOU matchups should be good this year. Likewise, I guess us Dodgers fans have felt (for way too long) that you can't keep us down forever. We caught the equally-steroided Rockies for first place, so we're learning how to win early. Wouldn't a Yanks/Dodgers WS be epic? The Nats are hot, so both we and the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs (just had to say it) have to take them seriously.

Cubs sweep Cards. Houston and the Nats can take all the steroids they want, they haven't faced my World Champion Cubs yet in a series!

Great stuff by Gennett, Cards are in a huge lovely slump too! Cubs have won 5 in a row and stay %points ahead of the Brewers for 1st in the NL Central.

Gotta wonder why they kept pitching to him!

The Nationals are the powerhouse of the NL so far, with the Rockies, Dodgers and D-backs all shoring up the probable playoff/wild card field. The Brew Crew and the Cubs look like the only hope for the Central, but neither is playing impressively yet. With roughly 100 games left, it's time for the real teams to step up and create that separation. Pitching rules!

As of June 11th, 2017 - The NL Central standings look like this:
Brewers 33-31
Cubs 31-31 (1 back)
Cards 29-32
Reds 29-33
Pirates 28-35

-Cubs only 1 game out despite being inconsistent this season. They had a nice win over the Rockies today which helped the Dodgers out as well. It's just about making the Playoffs in Baseball, once you get in anything can happen. I have great faith the Cubs will win their Division and then be a Bear in the Playoffs!

Standings in the whacky NL Central as of June 13th:
1. Brewers 34-32
2. Cubs 32-32 - 1 game back as of now.
3. Cards 30-33
4. Pirates 30-35
5. Reds 29-34
-Cubs toasted the Mets tonight 14-3! :kingclaphands:
