Cubs stomp Brewers 15-2 to pull within 1 game of 1st place in the NL Central. The Brewers fall to 11-8, while the Cubs have won 4 in a row to improve to 10-9.

Rev, Oakland wins 12th straight :kingclaphands:

So much for the Cubs being on a roll, it is back to suck city. The Milwaukee Clippers took 2 in a row from us and won the series today. Long season though, we will see what the standings look like after June.

Dodgers kinda falling back to Earth, giving up 6-run leads late in the game and silly stuff like that. It's ok - we have a target on our backs so every team will play us tough. We gotta be tougher.

Cubs take doubleheader from Dodgers today at Wrigley. 2 huge wins as the Cubs have been inconsistent and playing average baseball all season so far. The Cubs now improve to 14-16 and move into 3rd place %points ahead of the Reds. The Cubs are now just 3.5 games back of 1st place St. Louis in the NL Central with a lot of baseball to go!

What is going on with the Dodgers Rev? They started 14-3 but since then have been 3-11. Dodgers fell to 3rd place in the NL West at 17-14.

All of Dodger-land is wondering the same thing . . we'll get back into the groove and re-take the NL West but it's going to be a grind. As it should be.

Cubs complete a sweep of the Dodgers at Wrigley field. Tough gritty game tonight as the Cubs find a way to pull out a 6-5 victory in 11 Innings. The Cubs now improve to 15-16 on the season and are now just 3 games back of the 1st place 18-13 Cards in the Black and Blue Central Division. This whole division is bunched up, Cubs currently in 3rd place %points ahead of the Reds who are 14-15. Brewers are now 17-14 in 2nd place but have lost 4 in a row which is good to see :clap-1:

This Cubs team right now is tough to figure out, they win 3 or 4 in a row, then lose 3 or 4 in row. So far this season has been a roller coaster but as been as it has been at times, we are just 1 game below .500 as of now. I hope this series sweep of the Dodgers is a good sign of things to come.

Cubs are rolling now, Cubs just took down the Pirates for the 2nd straight day to improve to 17-16 on the season. 5 wins in a row baby! :standingO:

Don't know what to say about the Bums - up 13-0 on the Angels and let them score 11 runs to make it close in a 14-11 win, then turn around and lose 2-1 the next day. Skipper Roberts has a challenge on his hands what with the pesky Padres and the very surprising Giants so far.

Meanwhile my other "hometown" team the A's are having an equally impressive start, putting together wins with no real superstars as usual. Skipper Bob Melvin is a great guy and he's been one heck of a manager in his time with the Green-Collared Team.

So Al Bear Poo Holes signs on with Los Doyers and gets his first RBI, knocking in Mookie.

If you don't follow the MLB you just got lost :waaaaa:

The NL West is a mix-up, much like the Pacific Division this year. Let's look at run differential:

Look at the NL East (sorry Jesus) . . top 3 teams all negative. Even the upstart A's in the AL West are negative - with their competition the Whoston Assholes sporting a HUGE positive. The AL East is on fire +/-. The White Sox are KILLING IT with a +73, and my Dodgers are in third at +51 but clearly losing the close ones.

We won tonight. I'll be at Oracle (the former AT&T Park) in San Francisco on Sunday at 1pm watching my Bums battle the first place  Giants. My birthday is Wednesday so suffice to say I'm getting tipsy and enjoying my life all week! GO LAKERS!!!

I am one of those rare guys that follow Baseball all season. The diehards do that, I keep an eye on the Cubs every day to see if they win or lose. I have always said Baseball really doesn't start until June though. April and May are feeling out months because it is such a long season. June is when teams start to show their true colors. As of now I am ok with the Cubs being 20-20, they are maintaining by playing .500 ball during these 1st 2 months and are within 2.5 games of 1st place in their division.

Here are the NL Central Standings through May 17th, 2021:

1. Cards 23-18
2. Brewers 21-20 (2 back)
3. Cubs 20-20 (2.5 back)
4. Reds 19-20 (3 back)
5. Pirates 17-23 (5.5 back)

As you can see there really isn't 1 team in the NL Central that is bad, it is very competitive. Even the Pirates don't stink :roflmao: . The rest of the season is going to be interesting that is for sure. As far as grade goes through 1/4 of the 162 game season, I give the Cubs a C. Not bad but not great, average.

Cubs are now in 2nd place in the NL Central at 21-20, they just won their 3rd straight by beating the Nats tonight. Cubs are just 2.5 games out of 1st place behind the Cards who are 24-18. Brewers fell to 21-21 with a loss tonight. That is what makes Baseball great, it changes week to week.

The Cubs started an important 3 game set with the Cards tonight in the NL Central, at St. Louis. Entering game 1, the Cubs at 22-21 in 2nd place (3 games behind the Cards) took on the 1st place Cards at 25-18. The Cubs came out and set the tone from the beginning and dismantled the Cards 12-3 getting game 1. Cubs are now just 2 games behind the Cards at 23-21 for 1st place. Cards drop to 25-19. I was hoping to get 2 of 3, now the Cubs have 2 chances at it

Dodgers looking like they are over their early season Three Stooges act. I'll be at Oracle Park (the formerly AT&T) in SF on Sunday to cap off my birthday week by watching my World Champs against their NL West rivals. Good luck to the Cubs and Yanks!

Dodgers are the team to beat, I was lucky the Cubs caught them when they were acting like a bunch of Homer Simpsons running around out there :roflmao: . Cubs still look like they could be a playoff team at times but we will see. Yankees are playing much better too compared to April.
