I cant wait for Baseball start. Can my Cubs make the Playoffs for the 5th straight season? Here is their run:
2015 = 97-65, lost in NLCS
2016 = 103-58, won WS
2017 = 92-70. lost in NLCS
2018 = 95-68, lost in Wildcard round

-In the Regular Season the Cubs are 387-261 over the last 4 seasons = a 59.7 win %. I do not see them slowing down anytime soon. Bryant is healthy again now, that hurt us last year with him playing injured toward the end of the season. Go Cubs 2019!

Gotta give love to Bruce Bochy, who wandered around the league as a good manager until he hit a post-Barry Giants team that put a squad together similar to the Warriors and went on a historic WS run. He just announced he'll retire after this year. HOF in his future. Good guy.

I agree Rev, it is so tough to win a WS and the Giants won 3 in 5 seasons. I thought my Cubs would win 2 in a row after winning in 2016 but I found out it is not that easy. The Giants are a mini-dynasty and have to be classified as such because of winning 3 in 5 seasons = 2010, 2012, 2014. None of their teams could beat the 2016 Cubs who went 103-58 IMO but 3 Championships is better than 1. Hats off to the Giants for that amazing accomplishment.

Cubs at #6 is pretty respectable! I'll take it considering that is 58 seasons of Baseball being discussed and broken down from 1961-2018.

1986 Mets :roflmao:

The late-70s/early 80s Dodgers fielded some great teams, I smell east coast bias.

Yeah I noticed no West coast teams was on that list which was strange. I think the 1989 A's belong in the Top 10 personally, their lineup was lethal. The Dodgers teams that won it in 1981 and 1988 weren't really dominant IMO. They were great but not over the top impressive like the list MLB.com had. The 1986 Mets definitely belong in the top 5, not sure why you would laugh at that?

Top 5 greatest teams I have ever seen by my eye test (since 1980 roughly) were:
1. 1998 NY Yankees - went 114-48 and cruised in the playoffs. Jeter, Martinez, Williams, Brosius, and O'Neil were just magnificent with the bat. How about the Pitching with Wells, Pettitte, Cone, and Rivera. That team was so great that it wasn't even fair.

2. 1986 NY Mets - I have them #2, went 108-54 and was just clutch. Talent wise their Pitching was unreal = Gooden, Darling, Ojeda, Fernandez. Strawberry, Carter, Knight, and Hernandez were solid clutch hitters as well. It is their overall Pitching that gives them the #2 nod though. Orosco was a bad man too, to save games.

3. 2016 Chicago Cubs - I have my Cubs 3rd, went 103-58 and broke a 108 year jinx. Any team that can win Game 6 and Game 7 on the road to win a WS belongs in the GOAT discussion! Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Zobrist in the lineup. Arrieta, Lester, and Chapman all in their Pitching prime!

4. 1989 Oakland A's - went 99-63 and a lineup that was just loaded = McGwire, Canseco, Parker, and R.Henderson! Stewart, Welch, and Eckersley for Pitching. They swept the Giants 4-0 to win the WS. Canseco got healthy for the playoffs and that team was a machine. Had Canseco been healthy all season, this team would've won over 100 games. He missed a lot of games.

5. 2018 Boston Red Sox - went 108-54 and cruised in the playoffs. Betts, Benintendi, J.D. Martinez, and Bogaerts = a dangerous lineup. Pitching wise they have Porcello, Sale, and Price.

Rev, no East Coast bias here Brethren. I have the 1989 A's in my Top 4, this is since 1980 regarding my list.

"Greatest" is a tough piece of beef to chew on. Tommy Lasorda, Dusty Baker, Davey Lopes, Don Sutton, Fernando Valenzuela, Orel Hershiser, Chuck Yeager, Steve Garvey, Pedro Guerrero, Ron Cey and so many others, not to mention the Jackie Robinson Dodgers of the 40s/50s and the Sandy Koufax Dodgers of the 60s. And Reggie Jackson's hip beat us in '78. Our epic matchups vs. the Yanks rival the Lakers/Celtics clashes over the years. East coast bias :dedhors:

The best Dodgers team I have ever witnessed was 1981 without a doubt. They beat the Yankees that season :rthup:

The Chicago Cubs have won more games over the last 4 seasons than any team in the league = 387 and have won a WS:
2015 = 97-65, made the Playoffs
2016 = 103-58, WS Champions
2017 = 92-70, made the Playoffs
2018 = 95-68, made the Playoffs
387-261 = 59.7% winning

No wonder why I love Baseball (being a Cubs fan since 1984) more than any other sport :cheers:.

Here is my early WS prediction. I am predicting a Cubs/Astros WS. Kris Bryant is healthy and Yu Darvish is healthy as well. They are hungry again because they feel like they are being wrote off after losing early in the playoffs last year. I think the Astros bounce back and win the AL. It is tough to repeat, no team has done it since the Yankees in 2000 so I see the Red Sox falling back a little this season. The Astros are loaded.
