Go Cubs "lol4:

Cubs are in great shape/3 games up in their Division, they are even winning with key players being out. Once they get Contreras and Lester back they will be even better. Yeah you guys will have the best record in the league but everyone is 0-0 once the Playoffs start. I am not really worried about not having HFA because the Cubs have proven they can win anywhere in the Playoffs over the last 2 years. They have proven they can win Game 7's on the road as well.

I think the Cubs and Dodgers could really turn into a major rivalry over the next few years. As long as Theo is running the Cubs and Maddon is the Manager they will be Good to Great. The rivalry started last season when the Cubs beat the Dodgers in the NLCS 4-2, this season the Dodgers will be the clear favorites if they play again due to their Regular Season record. IMO all the pressure is on the Dodgers to get it done as the Cubs have proven they can win the WS. Over the last 2 seasons only the Mets in the 2015 NLCS has manhandled the Cubs. Daniel Murphy killed us in that series and it was just a bad matchup. Prior to that series we won at Pittsburgh in the WildCard Game and took out a Very Good Cards team 3-1 in the NLDS. Last season, I could argue the Cubs faced some of the best competition of all-time in any Playoff run. They had to play the 3-time World Champs with MadBum healthy, then the Dodgers in the NLCS, then an Indians team that was on fire who smoked the RedSox in the ALDS and then smoked BlueJays in the ALCS leading up to the WS. Indians also had HFA and was up 3-1 in our series. Indians have a manager in Francona that never loses in the Playoffs and the Cubs still found a way to beat him without HFA.

Giving you guys some great Baseball read today :roflmao: I will say this if the Cubs beat the Nationals, then Dodgers this season, and go on to Repeat, they belong in the discussion of one of the greatest teams ever. For 1 season which is 2016 they already are but a Repeat going through that comp cements it.

Cubs pound Phillies 17-2 and maintain their 3 game lead over the BrewCrew and stay 4.5 ahead of the Cards. I feel pretty good about winning the Division at this point, the Nats and mainly the Dodgers are going to be real tough to beat in the Playoffs no doubt.

They both have great pitching and offense. They aren't going anywhere. This should be a great rivalry for years to come!

I can talk all the shit I want but the Dodgers are the best team this year but we are the Champs until you beat us. I agree both teams are fantastic in reality. When you had us down 2-1 last season I was in severe panic mode because you have Kershaw.

I have no idea how the Indians had us down 3-1 either, I was ready to go jump in a lake somewhere at that point :roflmao: but my main man Kris Bryant wasn't worried, either was Jake. Great stuff.

Great night for the Cubs, they win 6-1 over the Pirates, now 10 games over .500 which is pretty respectable with the injuries they have had. The 3rd seed is getting more secured by the day. 2.5 game lead over the Brewers and now 5 ahead of the Cards. NL Central standings going into August 29th:
1. Cubs 70-60
2. Brewers 68-63 (2.5 back/3 in loss column)
3. Cards 65-65 (5 back)

-Cubs and Yankees both are 70-60 :roflmao:

Good job Cubs! They're poised to play their best ball in the post-season . . "never underestimate the heart of a champion."
Meanwhile, Kershaw is returning after missing a month. Can he still win the NL Cy Young?

He wont win CY Young but he is the best Pitcher in Baseball, I am in awe of how great the Dodgers are this season. If the Cubs don't Repeat they have nothing to be ashamed of because the Dodgers are 91-37. That record is video game material. Yeah I think this year Cubs team is similar to the 1995 Rockets, a team that has just coasted in the Regular Season to get to the Post Season after winning it all. Cubs will be a Mamba Snake in the Playoffs but the Dodgers are one of the greatest teams I have ever seen the way they have played.

Cubs are rolling right now and getting healthy. I love what I see now that September is here. Dodgers look actually human now as well, they have lost 5 in a row. You just never know what will happen once the Playoffs start.

Do you guys want to go ahead and concede the WS Trophy to the Cubs again. I tried to tell everyone we would Repeat. Cubs have the best player in the world in Kris Bryant and best CLUTCH Pitcher in Jake. Just give us the Trophy again and lets keep it simple :pissedkobe: Hell we have won what, I think it's like 8 in row - I've lost track.

The Dodgers losing so many games at the end here - especially to the team they're likely going to face in the first round, the D-backs - has been the wake-the-fuck-up story for the NL playoff picture. Anything less than a WS appearance this year is a big fail for Dave Roberts and his talented crew. I'm planning a weekend in L.A and may catch a game vs. the Giants at Chavez Ravine - haven't been there in . . damn-near 40 years!
