He is a Great Manager but I was going nuts when he pulled Hendricks out! Sometimes he over manages. That Game 7 could've went either way, luckily for him the Cubs bats were alive and well. If the Cubs would've lost that, Maddon would've been the new Billy Goat! A lot of people/Cubs fans on the ESPN Game Board was ready to rip Maddon bigtime had they lost!

I still cant believe the Cubs are World Champions, it is just now really sinking in. To guys like Kenny and Nuggs they are used to this because they are Yankees fans. Being a fan of a team that hadn't won one in 108 years then they do it is priceless. I may talk about this off and on during the offseason because this wont get old at all to me. It took the Colts 23 seasons to win a SB in Indy 1984-2006 and I thought that was a long time but 108 years!!

Yeah 1988 was a special year for me too as the Lakers Repeated, that was Magic Johnson's last championship. Hell of a year for you obviously with the Lakers and Dodgers winning it all! The Yankees last won it in 2009 so that isn't that long ago regarding their fans. The Lakers won it in 2010 so that was even this decade. Some Lakers fans on other Blog's/Chat Boards get on my nerves with their lack of patience, imagine if they had to wait 23 seasons in between Championships which I had to do with the Indianapolis Colts when they moved to Indy in 1984? Finally the Colts won one in 2006 and it took a player like freakin Peyton Manning to even get the one! Imagine having to wait 108 seasons like Cubs fans have had to endure LOL? I am proud to be a Cubs fan and not a bandwagon type of guy, been a fan since 1984 so it was worth the wait after what I witnessed Wednesday night! Proud to be a Lakers and Colts fan too. Lakers are still the kings in my fandom though has I have witnessed 10 Championships in my lifetime with them since 1980. I have 1980, 82, 85, 87, 88, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010 regarding the Lakers/2006 regarding the Colts, and now 2016 regarding the Cubs to celebrate as a Truefan of those teams. I did take a liking to the Mets during the 1986 WS but it was only because I loved Doc Gooden and couldn't stand Roger Clemens or the RedSox - it was a highschool thing as some loved Clemens and others loved Doc as those 2 were the best pitchers. So I was glad the Mets won in 1986 as well.

The Cubs parade was the biggest gathering in US history = over 5 Million people in one place. It ranked 7th all-time worldwide all-time. That WS was huge and an all-time great series for the ages! I hope they can be the first team to Repeat since the Yankees 3Peated in 2000.

For Kenny and Nuggs!

I was looking at every Champion over the last 20 Baseball seasons (1997-2016) and the 1998 Yankees were the best team record wise at 114-48, they beat the Rangers 3-0, beat the Indians 4-2, then won the WS over the Padres 4-0. Just for shits and giggles I was comparing my Cubs team to them, here is the breakdowns:
1998 Yankees = 114-48, 3-0 over Rangers/4-2 over Indians/4-0 over Padres - Manager Joe Torre
2016 Cubs = 103-58, 3-1 over Giants/4-2 over Dodgers/4-3 over Indians - Manager Joe Maddon

Yankees C - Posada .268/17 HR/63 RBI/0 SB
Cubs C - Contreras .282/12 HR/35 RBI/2 SB - Ross .229/10 HR/32 RBI/0 SB, both split a lot of time

Yankees 1B - Martinez .281/28 HR/123 RBI/2 SB
Cubs 1B - Rizzo .292/32 HR/109 RBI/3 SB

Yankees 2B - Knoblauch .265/17 HR/64 RBI/31 SB
Cubs 2B - Baez .273/14 HR/59 RBI/12 SB

Yankees 3B - Brosius .300/19 HR/98 RBI/11 SB
Cubs 3B - Bryant .292/39 HR/102 RBI/8 SB

Yankees SS - Jeter .324/19 HR/84 RBI/30 SB
Cubs SS - Russell .238/21 HR/95 RBI/5 SB

Yankees LF - Curtis .243/10 HR/56 RBI/21 SB
Cubs LF - Zobrist .272/18 HR/76 RBI/6 SB

Yankees CF - Williams .339/26 HR/97 RBI/15 SB
Cubs CF - Fowler .276/13 HR/48 RBI/13 SB

Yankees RF - O'Neill .317/24 HR/116 RBI/15 SB
Cubs RF - Heyward .230/7 HR/49 RBI/7 SB

Yankees DH - Strawberry .247/24 HR/57 RBI/8 SB
Cubs DH - Schwarber - Only played 2 games before being injured but was a force in the Playoffs so he would DH by AL rules.

Main Pitching:
Yankees = Wells 18-4 3.49 era L/Cone 20-7 3.55 era R/Pettite 16-11 4.24 era L/Rivera 36 saves in 54 games R
Cubs = Lester 19-5 2.44 era L/Arrieta 18-8 3.10 era R/Hendricks 16-8 2.13 era R/Chapman 16 saves in 28 games L
-R = Righty, L = Lefty

Team leader in WAR:
Yankees = Jeter 7.5
Cubs = Bryant 7.7, I was surprised Bryant had a higher WAR than Jeter but it was barely. WAR is basically a players win contribution to the team.

Going by the last 20 seasons 1997-2016, the 3 best Regular Seasons by a Champion have been the 1998 Yankees 114-48, 2016 Cubs 103-58, and 2009 Yankees 103-59. Cubs have had the 2nd best season over the last 20 seasons out of any Champion. They had a better record than the 2009 Yankees by a 1/2 game. Oddly the 1999 Yankees only went 98-64 and the 2000 Yankees were only 87-74 but they still managed to 3Peat.

*I actually had to go back all the way to the 1986 Season to find another Champion that had a better record than this seasons Cubs other than the 1998 Yankees. The 1986 Mets went 108-54. Only the 1998 Yankees and 1986 Mets have been better than the 2016 Cubs going back to 1986! Cubs had an historic season.

Kris Bryant won NL MVP! Just puts the capper on a terrific season. Cubs had the 2nd best record of any Champion over the last 30 seasons at 103-58 (Since 1987-2016 only the 1998 Yankees were better at 114-48 that won the WS over the last 30 seasons) and now have an MVP, cant ask for anything more. Jake won the CY Young last season so I didn't even care about that award. Cubs pitched more as a team this season with 4 solid starters in Jake, Lester, Hendricks, and Lackey + Chapman coming out of the pen too blow guys away and that is what wins championships.

I seen where Roberts won NL Manager of the Year. I am ok with it. Maddon can be a bit of a MadMan LOL. It will be interesting to see if the Dodgers go after Chapman to bolster their bull pen? That would be a huge loss for the Cubs and a big gain for LA.
