I hope they have fun rubbing it in because come tomorrow they will be sorry. Everything has went the Cubs way the last 2 weeks so we were due for a clunker. It happens to the best, can't win em all :silly3:. Doesn't matter if you lose by 15 or by 1, it's all the same in the end.

I told ya all the Cards would pay for what they did yesterday by running up the score. Cubs just beat them 7-2. Cubs now ahead of them by 8.5 games in the NL Central, 3.5 over the BrewDrinkers. Screw with the King , you get the horns. :waaaaa:

-If they win the NL Central, that will be 3 years in a row = 2016-2018

-They have already made 3 straight NLCS = 2015-2017

-Already won a WS in 2016 beating the Dodgers in the NLCS and then beating the Indians in the WS without HFA

-So if they beat this Dodgers team in the Playoffs again, then beat a powerhouse like the Red Sox, Astros, or Yankees are they a Dynasty for this decade? That would be 2 World Series wins in 3 years playing against top notch competition. The Giants have won 3 WS this decade = 2010, 2012, and 2014 so they would still lay claim to team of the decade but the Cubs have a chance to really cement this Core teams legacy. I believe they can win it all, they have been there and done that. Maddon is a mad scientist, Lester is a bulldog in the Playoffs and an ACE, and Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, and Zobrist are all beasts. The Bullpen really doesn't have anyone dominant but it has Good depth. Maddon has alot of Pitchers he can plug in for an Inning or 2 that have produced solid results.

I want to remember this Post so I am qouting it as the page turned over. It's about 2 in 3 years for me!

I am all about Baseball right now sorry guys. Cubs just destroyed the Cards 7-2 to take the 5 game series 3-2. They now lead the NL Central by 3.5 games again over the BrewDrinkers and lead the Cards by 8.5 games. Cubs also have the best record in the National League at 58-40.

-Not being rude but it's Baseball Season in the stretch run and I could give a shit about whether or not LeBron will play Center or who does what in Summer League which is meaningless shit :roflmao:. Basketball doesn't start until October LOL. We got our lineup set and LeBron so back to Baseball folks :pissedkobe:

I know Rev - I miss the days of Magic, Kareem, and Worthy + Byron, Coop, and AC. Then Chick calling the games too. We will never get that back but we will always have that in the history books to brag about. That was my favorite time in life, back to back in 88. Back then when I was 18 I was a bad ass, could shoot like Byron and had all bragging rights when I was in highschool over the Celtics fans that loved Bird :slamdunk:

Yeah I know, that Post came out of nowhere and I wasn't sure really what Rev was driving at "lol4: Maybe the mighty Rev had a few to drink last night so I threw in a Basketball Post about the 80's Lakers. I am surprised nobody is Posting about Baseball in here though, considering the Dodgers are in 1st place in the NL West and the Yankees are going to make the Playoffs. It's damn near August, it isn't like it's May.

Pretty cool story about the Poncedeleon guy on the Cards. Almost killed by a comebacker to the head in Triple-A over a year ago, he returns to make his major league debut and throws 116 pitches of no-hit ball. Too bad the Cards bungled the chance for a victory.

In other news, the Dodgers' Chase Utley - who recently announced this would be his last season - is back in Philadelphia, getting much love for his time spent as a Phillie. Dodgers wrapped up a comeback win last night and have opened up the second half as hot as they finished off the first. Go Blue!

A's have quietly put together an amazing season, and are about to comeback on the Texas Rangers again tonight. If you missed it last night, they were down 10-2 after 6 innings and scored 11 runs over the next 4 innings to win 13-10 in the 10th. Khris Davis smacked a 3-run game-winning homer. Third straight game with 4 homers for the A's. And the Piscotty side-story has been amazing too - guy lost his mom to Lou Gehrig's Disease back in May and has had a fantastic season despite the heartache.

"Honestly, it didn't feel like we were down that many runs," Davis said. "We were just playing the game like we're supposed to. This team is really good."

The last time the Athletics rallied from eight runs down after six innings came on Aug. 30, 1939, when the team was based in Philadelphia.

The Rangers, meanwhile, were 471-0 in franchise history when leading by at least eight runs in the seventh inning or later, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Oakland scored three in the seventh and four more with just one hit in the eighth. Stephen Piscotty's solo homer leading off the ninth tied the score against Keone Kela, who blew his first save of the season in 24 chances."

-The A's are now 60-43 and only 1.5 games behind the Mariners for the final Wildcard spot in the AL. They look really Good to respond to your Post!

-In the AL East the Red Sox are tearing it up at 71-32. They are 5.5 games ahead of the 64-36 Yankees. Yankees look like they may end up in the 1st Wildcard spot? In the AL West the 67-37 Astros are 5 games ahead of the 61-41 Mariners and 6.5 ahead of the A's. The AL Central is the worst Division in Baseball as the Indians at 55-46 are running away with it.

-In the NL East the 57-44 Phillies lead the 54-44 Braves by 1.5 games. In the NL Central the 59-42 Cubs lead the 58-46 Brewers by 2.5 games. In the NL West the 56-46 Dodgers lead the 56-47 D-Backs by a half game. The Cubs currently have the best record in the NL but have concerning injuries, like to Kris Bryant. Bryant has a shoulder injury that he has been playing with but has missed several games because of it (has missed the last 2 games). Pitcher Brandon Morrow is also on the DL with a back injury.

Rizzo with a walk off HR! :kingclaphands: D-Backs go down again. Cubs are now 60-42 and 3 games ahead of the BrewDrinkers in the NL Central. Best record in the National League. Go Cubs :standingO:

The legendary Adrian Gonzalez, who suffered from a herniated disk and lack of playing time, was cut from the Mets in June. He'll likely retire after an unceremonious absence from the World Series last year. Chase Utley has announced that this will be his last year. And now THE MAN, Mr. Clutch, the guy who personified and carried the Dodgers through the toughest of times in the mid-2000s, will hang 'em up as well. Andre Ethier, a fan favorite and clubhouse jokester, will make his exit August 3rd. His pinch-hit in the World Series last year will stand as his last hit and plate appearance. We love ya 'Dre!!!

-I apologize for my absence but have been real busy with work. I can't remember the last time I went a full week without Posting. Lets get caught up with what is going on in Baseball. We are now in the stretch run = the dog days of August. It's put up or shut up time now!

Here is who is doing what:

The AL as of August 1st games
AL East
Red Sox 75-34 = #1 Seed
Yankees 68-38 = #4 Seed (5.5 back)

AL Central
Indians 59-48 = #3 Seed, they are 10 games ahead in their Division. That Division is WEAK!

AL West
Astros 69-41 = #2 Seed
Mariners 63-45 = #5 Seed (5 back)
A's 64-46 = just %points behind the Mariners for the 5th Seed (5 back)

The NL as of August 1st games
NL East
Phillies 59-48 = #2 Seed by %points over the D-Backs
Braves 57-47 = #5 Seed (.5 back)

NL Central
Cubs 62-45 = #1 Seed
Brewers 63-48 = #4 Seed (1 back)

NL West
D-Backs 60-49 = #3 Seed
Dodgers 60-49 (0 games back) ESPN has the D-Backs in 1st so I am guessing they have some sort of tiebreaker over LA?

-There are some great Division races shaping up in the NL. The Cubs currently have the #1 Seed and HFA in the NL. The AL continues to have the teams with the 5 best records in the whole league = Red Sox who are the #1 Seed, Yankees, Astros, Mariners, and A's. Yankees will probably win over 100 games but only be a Wildcard unfortunately. That is rubbing Yankees fans raw.

GO CUBS!

Do or die time for the Yankees. They start a 4 game series with the Red Sox and are 5.5 games out of 1st place in the AL East. They need to win at least 3 of these 4 games to get back in the Division race. The Difference between the #1 Seed and #4 Seed is huge.
