Check out the highlight if you didn't see it, his leaping/flying slide into home is worth it!

And Arrieta loses his second game of the season, sorry 3Peat.

Yeah he struggled tonight. That is the first time this season that the Cubs have been swept in a season series. Cards got us 3 in a row. Cubs are still up 9.5 games and 14 over the Pirates. I'll take 47-23 through 70 games but the Cubs need to get back on track, still a long way to go this season. When July rolls around Baseball really starts to get serious.

Cubs won, thank God. To read some of the peoples Posts on ESPN you would think the world was over because of 1 losing streak! Cubs are still 48-24. They have doubled their win total to losses and they have a 9.5 game lead over the Cards as June is coming to an end. Pirates are 14 back LOL.

I am pretty much glad April, May, and now June is almost over. The first 3 months of Baseball are a feeling out period. July is when teams need to start getting their shit together. I usually don't even follow Baseball until July rolls around, after the NBA is over. Cubs lost again last night and are in a slump but luckily they are still 48-25 = the best record in Baseball and lead the Cards by 10 games. Cubs could actually play .500 the rest of the season and win their Division in reality. So they have took advantage of these first 3 months nicely despite the recent struggles. Sometimes it's good to build a cushion because if you struggle for 2 or 3 weeks it doesn't even hurt you. If the Cubs continue to struggle throughout the month of July then I will have my concerns regarding them winning the whole thing. Cant wait to see what July brings. Giants are really the only team that have me scared and it's because of their Championship pedigree over the last few years and I know what Bumgarner is capable of.

Bochy's got them boys playing A1 ball again, which sucks for Dodger fans because we're stuck with either winning the division, which means catching up to an excellent team, or fighting for a wild card in a league that has at least 5 other teams capable of qualifying for that spot. Hoping the Giants have a slump or two from here on out is kind of mandatory meditation for "Scully Nation".

On that note, enjoy The Voice Of Baseball while you can -- after this season he's dropping the mic and saying, "Vinny Out" like our Black Mamba did in April. We love ya Vin!!!

Yeah Bumgarner actually lost last night but when he gets in the Playoffs he is nearly impossible to hit. There is a slew of teams battling for the WildCard spots including the Dodgers but who knows as we still haven't reached July yet so anything is possible including winning the Division. Cubs lost another today, they are really struggling.

Nice win by my Cubs tonight over the lowly Reds! Still the best record in Baseball through 75 games at 49-26. Jake improves to 12-2 but still was shaky giving up some runs. He did hit a HR though, LOL. Cards and Pirates both lost tonight as well so Cubs have a 10 game lead over the Cards and 13 over the Pirates! Bryant hit 3 HR's, he pulled his inner Andre Dawson out tonight! Almost through June now. If anyone would've told me the Cubs would have a 10 game lead over the Cards or even close to that by the end of June, I would've laughed and told them they were nuts! Cubs just have to maintain through July, August, and September by playing decent Baseball and they will be fine.

Cubs end losing streak, improve to 52-30 on the season. As of July 4th :goUSA: :ak47: = fireworks, Cubs have a 9 game lead over the Cards and 10.5 over the Pirates! Even with the Cubs struggling a bit the Cards still cant catch ground because they have been losing too. Hard to believe the season is more than half over. So far at 52-30 with the win tonight I give the Cubs a A- overall. Not quite a solid A but they are on pace to still win 100 games.

My Bums are trying to succeed without our Super-Ace Kershaw, and we're actually playing some good baseball . . but those effin' Giants gotta cool off! Right now we have the inside track on the Wild Card over the Mets and Cards, but it's still early. Thinking of flying down to L.A. next month to catch a game vs. the Giants.

Dodgers have won 5 in a row, they are playing better than the Cubs right now.

My Cubbies stopped their losing streak with a crucial 6-5 win at Pittsburgh. The win put the Cubs 7.5 games ahead of the Pirates heading into the All-Star break, Cubs are still 7 games ahead of the Cards who are in 2nd place in the Division. Glad the break is here personally as the season is heading down the stretch now! Cubs currently still have the 2nd best record in Baseball going into the break at 53-35 %points ahead of the Nats and Rangers who are 54-36. Those pesky Giants have the best record in Baseball at 56-33. If someone were to tell me the Cubs would have a 7 game lead over the Cards and 7.5 over the Pirates at the All-Star break I would take that and run with it!

Baseball starts back up Friday. I see whoever comes out of the AL has HFA now. Division winners IMO will be the Cubs, Nats, and Giants with the Dodgers and Cards as the Wildcards regarding the NL. Giants will probably get HFA in the NL. In the AL I have the Orioles, Indians, and Rangers winning their Divisions with the RedSox and BlueJays as Wildcards. Rangers IMO will have HFA throughout. I don't think any team will lose their Division lead in either league as we continue after the break.

Kinda sucks to be playing well without Kershaw but have the best team in baseball in your division. As long as we keep playing well and improving, we should be able to hold off the Bucs, Cards and Mets.

Watching the 30 for 30 on Doc and Darryl . . incredible how the effects of childhood, atmosphere, upbringing, dysfunction, addiction and lack of discipline can allow for (what should have been) Hall Of Fame professional sports careers, yet still stay inside you like unbeatable demons that throw a curse on every great thing you do.

I think Doc Gooden should be in the HOFame. The only reason why he isn't was his drug use IMO. He was 194-112 as a starter and won a Championship in 1986 with the Mets. He also won 2 more Championships with the Yankees in 1996 and 2000. His 1985 Season is regarded as a Top 5 season of all-time in MLB history by a pitcher and the guy has 3 Rings. He also pitched a no hitter when he played for the Yankees. Strawberry clearly doesn't have the all-time numbers to get in so I can see the reasoning behind that.
