MLB - the 7th Inning Stretch

Cubs lost today but still took 2 out of 3 from the Rangers. I'll take that anyday. Cards lost as well so the Cubs are still up 8 games.

As of July 20th, the Cubs now have the best record in Baseball! Cubs just took 2 out 3 from the Mets and it could've been a sweep as Jake pitched a master piece in the only loss. The Cubs only scored 1 run, losing 2-1 = Jake got a no decision as the bull pen lost the game. At 57-37 they now control HFA in the NL, unfortunately the AL won the All-Star game so whoever comes out of the AL will have HFA regardless. I am mainly worried about the Giants anyway and they are struggling right now which is nice to see! The Cubs went through their struggles recently but appear to have found their mojo again as July is winding down. Cubs currently hold a 7 game lead in the NL Central over the Cards who are 50-44. August is almost here folks!
-Race for homefield in the NL:
Cubs 57-37
Giants 57-38
Nats 57-38
-Cubs only have 68 games left until the Post Season! To me it's win the World Series or bust for my Cubbies. I am not happy that if there is a Game 7 in the World Series the Cubs will have to play it on the road though!! The team with the best record should have HFA in the World Series. I didn't even watch the All-Star game - it doesn't even interest me and should have no bearing on HFA. Baseball is flawed here with their thinking.

Clayton Kershaw has missed almost a month of baseball, but still leads the MLB in Wins-Against-Ratio (WAR), which means news of back surgery will certainly de-rail what could have been another Cy Young-type season.

The Dodgers are 14-2 in Kershaw starts; after losing to the Nationals on Wednesday, they're 39-41 when he doesn't start. It's not a stretch to suggest that Kershaw has turned an otherwise mediocre team into a playoff contender.

Yeah it's not looking good for Kershaw, that would be like the Cubs losing Jake.

Just a couple of weeks ago Giants fans were making fun of the Cubs for losing 5 in a row and struggling on the ESPN Boards. Saying shit like we would never lose 5 in a row! I guess Karma is biting those fans in the ass as the Giants have lost 6 in a row which makes them the KING OF STINK and the Cubs are rolling again. I swear they have the absolute dumbest Posters I have ever seen on that Site. GO CUBS! Cubs have the best record in MLB as of today = July 23rd! Peyton won it on his last legs, LeBron won it for Cleveland and Cleveland never wins jack, now it's the Cubs turn for the cherry on top! Cubs haven't won in over 100 years so it's time baby!

Cubs won again tonight to improve to 59-38, Giants lost again. HFA is looking better and better at the moment in the NL. Cards lost tonight too thanks to your Dodgers. Dodgers took 2 out of 3 from the Cards so the Cubs lead in the Division is now 7.5. Getting Chapman from the Yankees will really help the bullpen. This could be the Cubs year!!

I tailgated at the A's game on Saturday . . whooo lots of booze and a little stanky dank in the air! We had seats in the right outfield, lower level, so it was a great outing. Incredible 10th inning comeback and fireworks after the game to boot!

I have never been to a Cubs game. Been a fan of there's since 1984 when I first started following Baseball closely. Wrigley is only 2.5 hours away but I have just never made the journey. I also liked the Mets in the Doc Gooden era when he was dominant as you know but as a teenager I had no way of traveling out to Shea. You had my mind really thinking with your Post regarding how many Colts games I have been too and it's been around 15 or so since Peyton Manning got drafted in 1998. The fun games that I seen live were the Cowboys in 1999 - we won, Jets in 2000 - we won, Broncos Playoff game in 2004Season - we blew the doors off of them, Jags in 2005 - we won, Titans in 2006 - we won, Jags in 2006 - we won, Texans in 2008 - that was the first season Lucas Oil was built - we won, Patriots in 2009 - I was at the Sunday Night game when the Colts came from 34-14 down and won 35-34/the 4th and 2 game, Jags in 2009 - we won, Titans in 2010 - we won, and in 2013 I seen the Texans again late in the season = my Andrew Luck first game live, we stomped them 25-3 and ran away with the Division. There were a couple of other games I went too when the Colts lost = Chargers in 2005 (that sucked we were 13-0 going into that game and they ended our undefeated season) and the Jags in 2011. I had free tickets to the 2011 Jags game, that was the season Peyton was injured. Since the 1985 Season I have went to almost every Lakers game when they have played the Pacers here in Indy + the 2000 Finals Game 3. My first Lakers game live was in the 1985Season, oddly enough we lost that game LOL! I have maybe missed only 5 or 6 Lakers games over the last 32 seasons, so I have seen them live over 25 times. Just a bit of history for you guys in here regarding my attendance in games. I know I cant top Kenny LOL but I have quite the resume regarding Colts and Lakers games.

My MLB stadium attendance, in order:

Dodger Stadium (late 70s)
California Angels (circa 1980)
Oakland Coliseum (late 80s)
Candlestick (late 80s)
Fenway Park (1990)
Safeco Field (2000)
AT&T Park (2012)

Major League stadiums are some of the most beautiful sports venues in the world, and definitely enhance the live experience.

Yeah that is very nice! You smoke me when it comes to going to Baseball games. I have been to a few Indianapolis Indians games here in Indianapolis when they where winning Championships in Triple A in the late 80's but no Pro games. I did go to Soldier Field in 2004 = Colts at Bears which was different and a nice experience. I only went to that because one of my best friends is a Bears fan and got 4 tickets to it and one of the people he got a ticket for bailed on him. I got a free ticket (he ate the money) - that ticket was 185 dollars/decent seat. I paid for his gas coming back because he drove as an appreciation and covered his dinner after the game, we all ate Red Lobster on the way back. Colts destroyed them LOL. The 3 other guys I went with were Bears fans so I was smug all day and night about that experience.

Cubs just acquired Chapman! Thank you Yankees! Cubs gave up very little in reality to get him, unproven players. The Heat is coming now!!

My Cubs are going to win it all, Book it! The heater is in the house now! The Cubs Bull Pen has blown 12 leads this season, they could have something like 65-70 wins already in reality. Colts made my dream come true in 2006 and now its the Cubs turn! Lakers have always gave me Championships :roflmao:
