MLB - the 7th Inning Stretch

I see the Dodgers now have the best record in the NL at 17-7, they have won 6 in a row. Cubs are at 14-7 with the 2nd best record in the NL. Big win by my cubbies last night over the Cards. Cubs still have a 3.5 game lead over the Cards and Brewers in the NL Central. In a shortened season every game is important. Cubs only have 39 games left. Dodgers only have 36 left. Dodgers have played a shit load of games lol.

Best records in Baseball through August 19th:
Dodgers 18-8
A's 17-8
Yankees 16-8
Cubs 16-8
-all 4 teams have the same amount of losses lol. Red Sox suck this year - they are done already, that just makes my day. Cards are just 6-7 as well, playing more games now but Cubs just took 3 of 5 from them. Cubs are in complete control of the NL Central, Brewers are 4 back at 11-11 and usually pull some lucky shit but I don't see it this year.

Remember folks, the season will be over by the end of September so every game is critical eventhough it seems like it just started.

Current NL Central Standings as of August 23rd:
Cubs 17-10
Cards 9-8 (3 back)
Brewers 11-15 (5.5 back)
Reds 11-5 (5.5 back)
Pirates 7-17 (8.5 back)

-Cards are always a threat, I am glad to have competition again. Of course it would be from those assholes - I say that out of respect :waaaaa:

Dodgers may win it all this year, I think in the NL it will come down to Dodgers/Cubs. Yankees will win the AL IMO. Cubs are now 18-10 with only 32 games left. We smoked the Tigers last night. Cards are only 3 games out though but I think this is our year to win the division again.

Dodgers here in SFO starting a 3-game series . . HATE THAT I CAN"T GO SEE THEM!!! But glad the MLB season has been able to continue. Giants on a nice win streak, longer than ours currently. Urias vs. Cueto. It's always a war between the former NY rivals who have dominated California baseball since the 70s.

Dodgers are 16-3 since August 12th, and set the all-time mark for Home Runs in a month with 57 in August. Of course statistically we've been blowing the doors off the League for the past several years, but it hasn't translated as well into the post-season and the World Series.

The Devil Rays are 18-3 since August 8th, after starting the season 7-6. So we're not the hottest team in baseball, but the Rays traditionally don't do much in the post-season.

Padres, White Sox and Mariners are also making runs, but the biggest surprise of the season has to be those Green-Collar Athletics.

The Cubs still have the 2nd best record in the NL at 20-14 and are 3 games ahead of the 2nd place Cards in the NL Central. Dodgers have been scorching hot lately and look unbeatable, Cubs had a similar streak to start the season starting 13-3. There is a lot of parity right now in baseball. The Yankees just lost 7 in a row at one point. Rays may win the the AL East?

Yankees reliever Miguel Yajure is making his major league debut -- wearing No. 89. He's the first player in major league history to wear that number. Every other number has been worn at least once. #mindblown :bomb:

Cubs won a thriller tonight 8-7 over the Pirates to improve to 21-14. Only 25 games left and the Cubs still own a 3 game lead over the Cards in the NL Central. Cubs and Braves both are tied for the 2nd best record in the NL at 21-14.

Cubs beat the Cards 4-1 behind the masterful pitching of Yu Darvish. Yu has been magnificent all season. Cubs now hold a 4.5 game lead over the Cards in the NL Central improving to 23-15 on the season. David Ross looks like he was the right choice for manager to replace Maddon.

Tampa Bay, Cleveland and the Dodgers continue to be the hottest in the Leagues. Dodgers first to 30 wins, Tampa Bay at 28 as of today. Dodgers are 6 games ahead of the Padres, who are playing the A's today (GO A'S!!!). The Yankees are in a tailspin, but with a 16-team roundabout playoff format, they'll probably get a shot.

"The 2020 Major League Baseball season has been shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Spring training resumed on July 1 rebranded as "Summer Camp". Each team will play 60 regular season games, which began on July 23 and is scheduled to end on September 27. An expanded 16-team postseason tournament is then scheduled to begin on September 29. The World Series is set to begin on October 23, and a potential Game 7 would be played on October 31."

Although . . this bracket shows that it'll be the traditional 10-team (3 from each League and 4 on a one-game play-in) format:

My money is on the Dodgers, I think they finally get it done. No more choking, no teams a cheatin'. Then guess what Rev, you and Craig will have to put up with the * bullshit. It will still be a WS Championship though.

Ken has been incognito lately . . I think I know why :danc3: but anyway hey Nuggs!!! Are you Mayor yet? As for your Yanks - yeah, IDK if it's pitching or injuries or just piss-poor skippering *Aaron Boone, pick up the white phone please :waaaaa: * but The Bombers have completely imploded. The Devil Rays have been the hottest team in baseball next to my Dodgers, so the Yankees would probably have had to get a Wild Card berth anyway.
