After winning 103 games and winning the WS this is really kind of stunning. I knew the Cubs wouldn't duplicate last season's 103-58 record but I thought they could still win 90 Games at worse. Yeah I know, July is just getting started so I still have patience but if the Cubs are still .500 by the end of July that isn't good at all. The Astros and Dodgers are by far and away the 2 best teams in Baseball so far IMO.
My mid season Cubs grades are basically all C's as I am just watching an Average team so far in 2017 - They are not Bad but not Good either. The Starting Rotation, Bullpen, and Hitting all are part of the blame. Just inconsistent:
Starting Pitching = C
Bullpen = C
Hitting = C
Manager (Maddon) = C
-Pretty simple grading so far.

The MLB season is long, so nothing is over yet. My Dodgers have been the hottest thing in beisbol the last few weeks but us Bums fans have been used to disappointment so we'll enjoy the moment and hope the squad can keep it focused in the postseason.

Yeah still a long way to go but they haven't shown any signs of being even a Good team this season, not close to being Very Good or Great. They are an Average team this season at 43-45 at the All-Star break (will be after losing today), not even .500! It's the Brewers Division to lose going into the break regarding the NL Central. Still pretty happy as of now as a fan though, just won the WS, broke all the silly jinxes, and have had a GREAT 2 year run with making the 2015 NLCS and winning the WS last season. Sometimes it just isn't your year I think it's the Dodgers year to do it, I just think with the Cubs and Cards down a bit the door is wide open. The Nats always choke and the Dodgers beat them last season in the Playoffs. The Astros have played Great all season but they are new to the scene being a contender. In closing, yeah we are still in July and there is a long way to go so things could look different when September rolls around? But we are at the All-Star break after tonight, so I have a lot of criteria to go on here with how teams look.
