Yankees sweep Cubs. It just wasn't our weekend. Lose in 18 Innings. Cubs didn't get any breaks all weekend long but we got them all in the World Series so I am ok no matter how this season goes. Cubs should've won 2 games in this series actually but got swept, that is Baseball. Yankees are damn good this season, I am convinced of that through 30 games.

Yeah, but fucking Chapman! That seems like a foolish signing to me at this point. Betances is better than him and they have Clippard, too (and others, like Adam Warren). They could have pursued a quality set up guy for much cheaper and with a lot less baggage. With a guy like Chapman, if he's not on, he's no Mariano Rivera. Not even close.

IMO, Yankees have a solid lineup and Good enough Pitching to win 90+ games. You do realize Chapman had 16 straight Saves without a fail until last night, that is Great. Chapman isn't Rivera but nobody is LOL, Chapman is still pretty automatic. He only blows a Save every once in a while. I also don't think the Cubs win the WS without him either so I am a Chap fan.

You raise a good point, but guys like him who are overpowering tend to lose a few mph off their fastball and become very hittable. Yes, he had an off night last night, just like he did in Game 7 of the WS but he was probably misused both times.

I love the Yankees roster other than their starting pitching, which WILL come back down to earth. I can only hope that CC has a truly bounce back season, that Tanaka is consistent, that Pineda's arm doesn't turn back into the noodle that it is, that Severino has figured out how to pitch in the majors (he has ace potential) and that this Montgomery kid can pitch consistent enough to be a decent 5th starter. There is no question that the hitting, defense and bullpen is solid. I'm excited!

Cubs are at 17-17, Cards at 19-14 (2.5 games ahead in the NL Central) going into their 3 game set over the weekend in St Louis. Should be an entertaining series for this early in the season. My Cubs are struggling and the Cards are redhot but don't let that fool ya, the Champs are still the Champs. Kris Bryant is batting right at .300 with 7 HR's despite the Cubs struggles.

Big early season win for the Champs. Go into St Louis and take Game 1, 3-2. Now only 1.5 back out of 1st place at 18-17.

No doubt about that. I always have considered April and May a feeling out process. As long as the Cubs play .500 ball in those months I am good with it. At least be .500 going into June every year (Those months aren't throw away months by no means so you don't want to dig a huge hole, .500 is respectable in the 1st 2 months because it is a marathon). In June is when I expect to see better Baseball and really after the All-Star Break is when your team should be primed and ready for the stretch run and playing at it's best.

"Baseball has been played for over 100 years the exact same way, and now we're trying to change everything and make it soft," Lester said. "That's baseball, man. We're out there playing with a bunch of pansies right now. I'm over this damn slide rule and replaying if it's too far and all this other B.S. We're grown men out there."

Yeah that was a bit cheap Happ was called out, big call actually as it may have cost the Cubs a big Inning. Cubs are getting drilled today as Jake has struggled, Cards are up 4-0 in the 4th Inning. A loss here would put the Cubs below .500 at 18-19 and 3.5 games out of 1st in the NL Central.

Great night for Jeter, he deserved it. That 3Peat Yankees team was awesome and he was the leader of those teams from 98-2000.

Yeah I seen the Giants beat the Dodgers. This has been a strange season so far. Cubs are 18-19 so I feel worse than you do.
