The American League Wild Card race looks to be competitive, with teams like Seattle getting hot and moving up the board. Hell, even the Yanks are still in the hunt at one game over .500 (57-56). The World Series Champion Royals have fallen off, and barring a miracle won't even make the playoffs.
The National League has its own Wild Card battle, with teams like the Marlins, Cards, Pirates and Mets very much in the race. The Dodgers actually caught up to the Giants for the division lead a couple days ago, and in doing so they widened their lead in the Wild Card standings.
It's put-up-or-shut-up time, and in reality the playoffs begin RIGHT NOW for those on the bubble. Great pitching beats great hitting just as in the playoffs, so let's see who has the right stuff to make it in!
