Cubs win tonight and now have a 1.5 game lead in the NL Central. Brewers lose, Cubs still in the 3rd spot regarding the Playoffs in the NL and are getting healthy. It's all good! Dodgers can have 114 wins and we may only have 90 but it's 0-0 come Playoff time and we know how to win in the Playoffs

Nah, it's that time of year Craig. I figured I would get you going with that. I remember last season I got upset with a few of your Posts and shouldn't of, anything within reason should be allowed Post wise. Last year I was just a grouchy old fart with tons of pressure on my shoulders and was sick of hearing the Cubs as chokers 108/108/108. This season throw it all at me brother. I wont complain once. Pressure is on your Dodgers. FWIW I do like the Dodgers and if they get by the Cubs I hope they win it all, but they wont.

Twins 58-56 (3.5 back) would be the 5 Seed WildCard

Not many games left now guys, the stretch run is here. The team to beat in Baseball is clearly the Dodgers IMO but the Cubs are still the World Champs until proven otherwise. In the AL the Astros are pretty much a lock for HFA but look out for the RedSox, Indians, and Yankees. I think the AL is real wide open. In the NL I still think it will be the Dodgers and Cubs in the NLCS. Nats just find ways to choke every year in the Playoffs and although I am a little worried about the Cards in the NL Central only being 1 game back, they are due to start losing a few. They have won 7 in a row but really have been inconsistent all season. The Cubs schedule gets easier after playing the D-Backs this weekend as well.

The Champs come up big out West! With the Division lead on the line the Chicago Cubs take 2 of 3 against a very tough Arizona team in Arizona. Jake Arrieta dominated the D-Backs on Sunday and the reigning NL MVP Kris Bryant homered in a 7-2 win. Coupled with a Cardinals loss, the Cubs now are back on top by 1 full game in the NL Central. Now the Cubs schedule gets much easier on paper as they face the Reds at Wrigley while the Cards have to travel to Boston for 2 games.

Cubs now 1.5 games ahead of the Cards in the NL Central, 2.5 over the Brewers. Cubs whipped the Reds tonight 15-5! Things are looking better and pretty decent now.

-Really interesting stuff going on here. I listed the teams that have a great shot at making the Playoffs (or possibly decent shot at getting in). The AL WildCard race is unreal. You have the Yankees at 62-55 at the 4 and then have the Angels at 61-58 at the 5 edging out the Twins who are 59-57 and Royals who are 60-58. That is going to be fun to follow over the last month and a half. Cubs are in a tight race in the NL Central as well, leading the Cards by 1.5 games and Brewers by 2.5 games. Dodgers look like they will have HFA throughout and Astros look like they will have HFA in the AL. So glad Baseball changed that rule as the team with the best record deserves it. Had Baseball not changed the rule, an AL team would've had HFA. I know the Cubs won it all without it last season but it's still better to have it. Kenny here is a fun fact - the Yankees and Cubs have identical records, both are 62-55.

I know 3-Peat. I know that the regular season is the regular season. The Mariners had the best record a few years back but that couldn't guarantee them a World Series title. And The DOYERS have had their post season issues. But in saying that this is a different year & different team. It would be a shame if they don't win it all after this historic regular season so far

It should be your year. I had mine last year. Kenny has had plenty of them The Playoffs will be interesting and very fun to watch brethren.

The Dodgers are on pace to win 115/116 games going by their winning %. The best Regular Season record of all-time belongs to the 2001 Seattle Mariners who were 116-46 in a 162 game season. It will be interesting to see if they can top the Mariners or if they even go for it. I am sure winning a Championship means more to them but why not go for it? Yankees were 114-48 and they won the WS in 1998. Dodgers are definitely the team to beat here in 2017. I think they easily pass the Cubs last seasons mark of 103-58 (they played 161 due to a game not being made up) and I thought that was impressive. The Cubs did go on to win the WS which was more important to me though.

Cubs still in 1st place in the NL Central heading into August 17th as they defeat the Reds 7-6 tonight. They maintain a 1.5 game lead over the Brewers and a 2.5 game lead over the Cards.
Cubs are at 63-56
Brewers at 63-59
Cards 61-59
-What I like about this is, the Cubs are really 3 ahead of both teams because of the loss column. If the season ended today the Cubs would be the 3 Seed and would play the Nationals in the Divisional Round = best of 5. I love my chances there, Bryce Harper may miss the rest of the Regular Season as well. He will be rusty going into the Playoffs after his leg injury.
