Great stuff! It appears they may end up with a better record than last years Cubs who went 103-58, the Postseason will be the tell all as we know. Had the Cubs lost to the Indians or Dodgers nobody would even care the Cubs won 103 games. I remember when Seattle won 116 games back in 2001 but they lost in the Playoffs and nobody even talks about them being an all-time great team.

All I care about at this point is, the Cubs maintaining their Division lead. They lost tonight but so did the Brewers. Cubs are up 2.5 games and 4 in the loss column over them. I think it's safe to say the Cubs are in good shape as August gets going. The Cards are 4.5 back which is even better

-Winning the Division gets a team a Top 3 Seed and into the Playoffs/keeps them out of the 1 game elimination WildCard Game. That is the Regular Season goal. In Baseball getting HFA doesn't guarantee anything. Cubs won Game 7 without it over the Indians and the Giants won Game 7 in 2014 over the Royals without it.

2017 NLCS PREDICTIONS (Bleacher Report)

(1) Los Angeles Dodgers over (3) Chicago Cubs

(Season Series: LAD 4-2)

The Cubs bested the Dodgers in six games in the NLCS a year ago, but suffice to say this is not the same Dodgers team.

After sweeping the Diamondbacks in the Division Series, the Dodgers are able to setup their starting rotation and that means Clayton Kershaw for Games 1, 4 and 7, if necessary.

Kershaw had one great start (G2: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER) and one rocky start (G5: 5.0 IP, 7 H, 5 ER) in last year's matchup and he comes out firing in Game 1 with a four-hit shutout.

The Cubs answer back in Game 2 as Jake Arrieta outduels Yu Darvish in a preview of the free-agent market's top upcoming arms and the series momentum swings as the Cubs chase Rich Hill early in Game 3 with a blowout win.

The Dodgers don't let things slip away this time, though.

They take the next two at Wrigley Field behind an offensive explosion led by young stars Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager and Darvish pitches the game of his life in Game 6 back at Dodger Stadium to clinch the pennant.

NLCS MVP goes to Kershaw, but he shares it with Darvish in a moment reminiscent of the Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling World Series in Arizona as the recruitment to re-sign him is in full swing.

I think it will go 7 but and you guys will have Game 7 at home. I wont talk to much shit because I know the Dodgers are great this season. I thought they were great last season actually. If I was a betting man I would take the Dodgers and Cubs and give the field, I think 1 of those 2 will win it all. I think had the Dodgers beat the Cubs last season, Dodgers would've beat the Indians in 7 like the Cubs did. Indians would've found a way to lose :roflmao:

I know you are just being sarcastic but if you guys sweep us I will have to bow down on that one. Dodgers are great though.

Yeah you guys are rolling, Cubs have hit a rough patch. They lost again today. They are still in 1st place though. Brewers are on their ass. Cards are still 4.5 back. This part of the Cubs schedule is really rough, they need to get the weekend out of the way then they face the Giants. They should win at least 2 of 3 vs them if not all 3.

Greatest World Series Champions (record wise) in the last 40 seasons 1977-2016
1. 1998 NewYork Yankees 114-48 (70.4%)
2. 1986 NewYork Mets 108-54 (66.7%)
3. 1984 Detroit Tigers 104-58 (64.2%)
4. 2016 Chicago Cubs 103-58 (64%)
5. 2009 NewYork Yankees 103-59 (63.6%)

The LA Dodgers are currently 77-32 (70.6%). It is going to be interesting to see what their record ends up being and if they can win it all. They are on pace to win 114 games like the 1998 Yankees. My 2016 Cubs are currently 4th best over the last 4 decades.

As of August 5th, 2017 - here is a huge breakdown by me(3Peat). Only 2 months left in the season guys and the stretch run is here!

The AL breakdown
#1 Seed would be the Houston Astros at 70-39 leading the AL West
#2 Seed would be the Boston RedSox at 61-49 leading the AL East
#3 Seed would be the Cleveland Indians at 59-48 leading the AL Central
The WildCard teams = #4 NewYork Yankees at 57-51/#5 KC Royals at 56-52, the Tampa Bay Rays are at 57-54 right behind those teams.

The NL breakdown
#1 Seed would be the LA Dodgers at 77-32 leading the NL West
#2 Seed would be the Washington Nationals at 64-44 leading the NL East
#3 Seed would be the World Champion Chicago Cubs at 58-51 leading the NL Central
The WildCard teams = #4 Arizona D-Backs at 63-46/#5 Colorado Rockies at 63-47.

-Huge win by the Cubs today as they took down the Nationals to maintain their Division lead over the Milwaukee Brewers by 1 game. Cubs are at 58-51, Brewers are at 58-53 and play the Rays tonight at Tampa. The Cubs and Nats have dueled to a 1-1 tie in the series so far, tomorrow is the rubber match between these 2 solid teams. Can anyone beat the Dodgers come Playoff time is the million dollar question though? Regarding the AL the Astros are running away with HFA and look pretty solid but the RedSox and Indians are very dangerous. The AL WildCard race between the Yankees, Royals, and Rays will go the wire IMO. 1 of those teams wont get in.

It's yours to lose this season, Dodgers will be huge favorites when Playoff time rolls around. That is what makes Baseball great, year to year you just never know what is going to happen. I am pretty content right now as a Cubs fan. I want more WS Championships but 2016 was a special season winning it all and going 103-58 = 4th best record over the last 40 seasons for a WS Champion. Cubs now have a nice place in history no matter what happens and have provided me 3 years of entertainment since 2015. Not sure how this season will end but the Cubs made the NLCS in 2015 with Jake winning Cy Young and Bryant winning Rookie of the Year + Maddon won Manager of the Year, 2016 Bryant wins NL MVP and Cubs won the WS, so far in 1st place in the NL Central as August is in full gear now. I have no complaints. Pressure is really on the Dodgers as they haven't won a WS in 30 seasons (1988).

-The 108 season drought doesn't even matter now, it's over now and old news. We ended it by taking down LeBron's Indians on their home field in Game 7.

Here's an interesting fact. Do you guys know Derek Jeter never won an AL MVP? How's that possible? He was great for a long time. I was just doing some research on players and he never won an MVP. I bet most people don't know that. Kris Bryant already has 1 in the NL, Mike Trout has 2 in the AL.
