The Lakers have hit a very expected wall, especially considering the injury bug. Luke will get them back on track. I still don't see them as more than a 30 win team, but the progress they have already made is undeniable. This is far from a finished product, so we need to be patient to see what, if anything, the front office does at the trade deadline or potentially sooner. Watching how great Porzingis is obviously becoming was quite painful last night. Maybe Tom was right about needing a Willie Cauley-Stein type on this team. We certainly need a rim protector who is better than Timofey Mozstiff. Maybe Luke should start Zubac so he is effective when he's Porzingis' age. Deng has been playing better lately though. Hopefully that will be a constant moving forward.

Go Yankees!

Yeah I predicted us to win 30 games before the season started and that will probably be right on cue. I like the progress we have made so far this season but IMO unless we make a major splash like trade for a player like Cousins for example or pickup a Great F. Agent we wont be in the playoffs for a couple of years. Hiring Luke is a step in the right direction no doubt and I like Russell but still not totally sold on him becoming a dominant player. I think he will be Good and same for Randle but not sure if they will ever be SuperStars. Ingram to me has more upside than both but he's only a Rookie. I see 30 wins this season and if we pretty much have the same Roster next season I could see us being around .500 as the young guys get another year under their belt but still no Playoffs. Porzingis is proving everyone wrong and as of now I have to say he is better than Russell and Okafor from that Draft.

Regarding Baseball it will be interesting to see what else the Yankees do in the offseason? They had a winning record last season so they weren't Bad and they always pick players up.

As of today - Dec 19th, after a lot of moves have been made in the off season so far, Vegas odds on who will win the 2017 World Series:
1. Cubs 3/1
2. Redsox 5/1
3. Dodgers 10/1
Nationals 10/1
- Indians are 12/1, Giants are 14/1, and Yankees are 14/1 if anyone is wondering. Put a thousand on the Yankees you could win 14,000!

Your Division is going to be fight all season between the Dodgers and Giants. Those 2 teams are pretty even, I think the Cubs have it easier in their Division but I never count out the Cards. Cards took Fowler from us, bastards!

I think we'll come in with the continuity from last year and handle the divison. The Giants have personnel issues and, despite constant additions, I think their window has closed. They won't give up though. It'll be interesting to see how the Cubs come out now that they have the crown.

I honestly cant see the Cubs winning 103 games again, that was a special season going 103-58. I can see that win total around 95 which will still win the Division IMO. Losing Fowler and Chapman , especially Fowler will hurt. Cubs did pick up Davis so that will help offset Chapman a bit but he still isn't Chapman IMO. However when it comes to the Playoffs, the Cubs may play looser this season because the pressure is off regarding hadn't won it all.

I have done tons of research over the last few days regarding Pro Baseball and it's debatable that anything should count before the 1947 Season, JMO. Reason being is, African Americans were not allowed to play before that. Jackie Robinson rule! So the 1927 Yankees cant be considered the greatest team ever, sorry Babe. Nor can the 1909 Pirates who actually finished 110-42/72.4%, better than the 1927 Yankees who were 110-44/71.4%. I was looking at teams since the 1980 Season that have won the World Series and that is going back 37 seasons roughly when I was 9 years old (1980-2016). The 5 best teams winning % wise that have won the World Series since 1980 are:
1. 1998 Yankees 114-48 70.4%
2. 1986 Mets 108-54 66.7%
3. 1984 Tigers 104-58 64.2%
4. 2016 Cubs 103-58 64%
5. 2009 Yankees 103-59 63.6%
-These have been the 5 most dominant teams since 1980 to win the Championship since 1980. Cubs had a game get postponed that wasn't made up so they are sandwiched between the 84 Tigers and 09 Yankees.

Here's a breakdown of a true legit list. I took the best teams winning % wise that have won the World Series since the 1947 Season. Why 1947? Because African Americans weren't allowed to play before the 1947 Season (Jackie Robinson rule), also you had WW2 going on between 1939-1945 which affected Baseball. So a legit list would be Greatest teams from 1947-2016 seasons.

Teams
1. 1998 NY Yankees 114-48 70.4%
2. 1961 NY Yankees 109-53 67.3%
3. 1970 Baltimore Orioles 108-54 66.7%
1975 Cincinnati Reds 108-54 66.7%
1986 NY Mets 108-54 66.7%
6. 1953 NY Yankees 99-52 65.6% (back then the season was less than 162 games)
7. 1984 Detroit Tigers 104-58 64.2%
8. 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers 98-55 64.1% (back then the season was less than 162 games)
9. 2016 Chicago Cubs 103-58 64.0% (only had 161 games count due to 1 game being called because of bad weather, game vs the Pirates ended 1-1 and wasn't made up because it was late in the season and didn't affect the standings).

-These are the 9 individual seasons since 1947 that teams won at least 64% or more of their games. I studied each of these Rosters pretty extensively and to me the 1961 Yankees are the best team out of this bunch. The main part of their Pitching staff consisted of Whitey Ford who went 25-4, Ralph Terry who was 16-3, and Bill Stafford was 14-9. They had a reliever by the name of Luis Arroyo who was 15-5 and had 29 Saves - guy was awesome. That was the season Mickey Mantle hit 54 HR's and had 128 RBI's and Roger Maris hit 61 HR's and had 141 RBI's as well. Yogi Berra was on that team too and was arguably the greatest Catcher of all-time. I do think it's cool that the Cubs had the 9th greatest season in MLB history winning % wise that won the World Series since Jackie Robinson broke the Barrier for African Americans. The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers are at #8 for you Dodgers fans, Jackie was on that team.

-That list is a special list of Baseball teams, that is the Elite of the Elite! Wasn't TrueFan born in 1947 as well?

Yeah, counting the Yankees' greatness before the 50's is like Celtics fans counting the 50's/60's titles . . totally different level of competition, number of teams, diversification of gameplay, etc. MLB after 1947, NFL after 1970, NBA after 1975. Anything before that can't legitimately be compared to stats/accomplishments over the past 30 years, but it can of course continue to be celebrated!

I totally agree 1000%, not 100 but 1000%. I wish I could give a thousand LIKES for that Post bro. Except NBA - it should be after 1976, not 1975 :roflmao: but you are right. It wasn't full NBA until the 77 Season when the best ABA players merged over. Regarding the NFL, it merged before the 1970 Season into the AFC/NFC so from 1970 to now is legit. Baseball is the main sport though regarding these type of arguments because African Americans weren't allowed to play before the 1947 Season, so how in the hell can anyone say with a straight face any team before 1947 was better than any teams after that.

Baseball cant get here quick enough, I hate winter. I am looking forward to seeing if the Cubs can Repeat. My team finally are the kings of Baseball! It will be tough to top that 103-58 record, hell that is winning at a 64% rate over 161 games that counted. Winning Game 6 and 7 on the road in the WS is unheard of as well. Indians were playing damn Great Baseball in the WS.

I would love to plug all of these 9 teams into a computer simulator and let in run for hours resulting in at least 100,000 results to who the best team is. I would guess it would be the 1961 Yankees.

Jake Arrieta signed to another season. Great news, keep the momentum rolling Cubs! The sports Gods figure if the Lakers stink for 4 years in a row and the Colts miss the Playoffs 2 years in a row, they then owe me at least the Cubs. :roflmao:

When does spring training start, I really don't know? I already know the Warriors are going to beat the Cavs in the Finals regarding Basketball. At this point in Football I don't like any of the teams left. Let Tom Brady win again so we can hear how he walks on water for the 1000th time from the media. I hope the Cubs win 4 or 5 in row so they can get Tom Brady love, the kind of love that never stops "lol4: :beavis: :bart: :banghead: :rofl4: :kingclaphands:
