Go Dodgers! We small-balled our way to a victory over the sleepy Brewers after that extra-innings nail-biter last night! One of two in Beer Town and it's back to the WS! I know it's gonna go to 7 games though :panic: :nervousalot:

I hope it ends in 6, Game 7 would be scary on the road. Go Dodgers! It's your time to get it done in this era is the way I look at it. Get back to the WS and see how the cards play out.

5 reasons why I want the Dodgers to win it all:
1. I hate the Brewers
2. I hate the Red Sox
3. I don't want the Astros to Repeat
4. Rev and Lakers4Life have suffered enough because of last years WS loss
5. Lakers4Life will start Posting again if the Dodgers do win it all :rofl4:

Pretty sure the feeling in the pit of every Dodger fan's stomach is that we're going to lose to whoever we play in the WS. The AL has shown its dominance, and our last WS win in '88 was against pretty improbable odds. But it's what we watch sports for!

The AL has been dominant this year but the best team in the Regular Season seem to fail alot in Baseball. It wouldn't shock me at all if the Dodgers beat the Red Sox or Astros this season. Dodgers have been on the cusp of winning it all for a while now, they have tons of experience in these big games. Kershaw is hungry as well, he looked great tonight. I honestly thought after the Dodgers rolled over my Cubs last season in the NLCS 4-1 that there was no way they would lose to the Astros. I can see things being reversed this year.

Well the Sox just took a 3-1 series lead over the Astros. It's tough to Repeat in Baseball and this is just another example of it. The Cubs went through it last season when they lost 4-1 to the Dodgers in the NLCS. No team has Repeated since the Yankees did it in 2000. When a team wins the WS, they should at least go back the next season to the NLCS or ALCS to show their Championship wasn't a fluke. Cubs did that last year, Astros did it this year. If the Astros lose, they can at least say they defended their Championship well like us Cubs felt we did. Dodgers were just too much for the Cubs last season and the Sox appear to be too much for the Astros this season.

-We could be looking at a Boston vs LA World Series? Is this Basketball or what :waaaaa:

Baseball report:

As much as I hate them, congrats to the Red Sox winning the 2018 AL Pennant. That is a Very Good accomplishment making the WS, not Great though, my list goes:
1. Winning the WS is Great and the only way to be truly happy
2. Making the WS is Very Good
3. Making the NLCS/ALCS is Good
4. Making the Playoffs is OK but getting eliminated early really sucks!

-I thought the Astros would beat the Red Sox actually going into the series as defending World Champs. I underestimated how solid the Sox are. I know they have won 108 games but the Astros looked a machine to me with better Pitching going into that series. This goes to show everyone that Repeating is nearly impossible in today's league. Hasn't happened since the 2000Yankees. Just too many Good different teams every season in today's game. Last season the Cubs simply lost to a better team in the NLCS = the Dodgers but they beat the Dodgers in 2016 on their way to winning the WS. So I was fine losing to the Dodgers in the Final 4 defending the WS Title which is no shame. The Cubs defended their WS Title really well. They lost 4-1 in the NLCS just like the Astros lost 4-1 in the ALCS this season defending their WS Title. I just really hope the Dodgers can eliminate the Brewers tomorrow and then upset the Red Sox.

-Can the Red Sox join this elite group of WS winners record wise over the last 40 seasons (from 1979-2018)?
Teams with the 5 best records over the last 40 seasons to win a WS:
1. 1998 Yankees 114-48
2. 1986 Mets 108-54
3. 1984 Tigers 104-58
4. 2016 Cubs 103-58 *played in 161 games
5. 2009 Yankees 103-59
-The Red Sox are 108-54 so if they win it all they would tie the 1986 Mets for 2nd best single season team over the last 40 seasons record wise. I went back 5 decades for that fact. Glad my 2016 Cubs are a part of it. In 1979 our great Kenny was only 21 years old if I am not mistaken?

-Good luck tomorrow to the Dodgers and their fans. Good luck Rev, drink a few beers and try and relax Brethren

Well Rev it comes down to 1 game to see who wins the NL Pennant. Saturday night Game 7. Good luck.If the Dodgers do not win it all this season I will start to think they are jinxed in this era. 30 years is a long time to go without a Title. Cubs went 108 years before they won it all in 2016 but I have only been a fan for 32 years of that since 1984. 32 years was still way too long to wait.

We don't seem to have a drive and a focus, and so we play down to the level of teams we should beat. Milwaukee is solid, but nowhere near as talented as us. If we don't win this one (we're up 2-1 in the 5th inning) the season was a failure. We'll be back stronger next year, though.

If anyone deserves a Laurel and Hardy handshake, it's the great Mariano Rivera, the greatest closer in MLB history! Bravo! First unanimous inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame!

Former 2016 NL League MVP Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs stirs up some stuff with the Cardinals organization "lol4: . He basically said, I hate the city of St Louis, it is terrible and when I play there I just hate it. I would never play for that organization either, when was the last time they won a Championship? We just won one in 2016. The rivalry is on baby! :waaaaa: . I can't wait for Baseball. The former MVP and World Champion also said he is 100% healthy and ready to go :xclaphands:, I love it! Go Cubs!

Last 5 World Champions:
2014 - Giants
2015 - Royals
2016 - Cubs
2017 - Astros
2018 - Red Sox

The MLB celebrates the life of Frank Robinson! Incredible player (out of Oakland, Ca.) who set a number of trends in both leagues and represented baseball admirably. Thanks Frank!
