They're screening Purple Rain all week at this cool theater in Oakland where you can order all kinds of food, beer and wine and take it into the theater. All reclined plush seats and side tables etc. I got tix for Thurs AND Fri so I can say goodbye to His Royal Badness one last time. The movie has so many funny parts. If somebody wants to convert this link for me go ahead:

I have felt strange all weekend with him being gone. Grouchy and depressed. I loved him growing up. I am in to all kinds of music from Hard Rock to softer Rock to Rap to R&B, etc.. Not much on Country but that is about it. My Top 5 Prince songs of all-time are probably:
5. When Doves Cry
4. Lets Go Crazy
3. I would Die For You
2. Little Red Corvette
1. Purple Rain
-Just my 5 favorite but he has at least 10 other songs you can put into a Top 5.

The extended ballad "Adore" is at THE TOP of love-making/baby-making songs - eclipsing his early-80's "Do Me Baby" - and the "Sign O' the Times" album was in my opinion his greatest single album . . it came out virtually the same time as Michael Jackson's "BAD" album in 1988. Prince's "Parade" - the soundtrack from the silly period-piece movie "Under The Cherry Moon" - is another great one. His music and talent were simply otherworldly and undefinable, and carried a signature sound like all of Stevie Wonder's musical creations. A very strange, complex man with a gift for driving women crazy and creating songs that even the hardest of men found themselves singing along to. In addition, he was one of the ALL-TIME greatest guitarists in rock history.

Between Kobe and Prince, we've lost a lot of Purple Mojo lately.
