The NFL - Are you ready for some football?

I figured I would chime in here since nobody has Posted since Friday night when Rev made a Post. Not a good day for any of our teams yesterday with the exception of NUGGET'S Chargers. Colts are now 0-2 again for the 3rd straight season and have a ton of injuries on Defense. They look done I hate to say it. Without a Defense in the NFL you just cant beat the Elite teams. With a franchise QB you usually can beat the Good to Bad teams which the Colts have done in the Luck era but beating Elite teams has been an issue for the most part in the Luck era. Colts did beat the Broncos at Denver in the 2014 Playoffs but haven't come close to beating the Patriots or Steelers. Yesterday the Broncos just had too much Defensively creating 2 big Turnovers off of Luck resulting in scores. The Colts did have a chance to win the game with the ball on the final drive despite playing poorly most of the game but they didn't get it done! Von Miller did to Luck what he did recently to Brady and Cam = sacks and getting game changing Turnovers. I don't dislike Pagano but I have been critical of him ever since the Patriots manhandled Indy in the 2014 AFC Title Game. He may need to go? or maybe Irsay should shitcan Grigson and shoot for a new GM. Irsay may have made a mistake giving Grigson and Pagano contract extensions? Luck cant be a 1 man team and win SB's! How about the Seahawks losing to the Rams and Wilson only putting up 3 points against that terrible team? Man that was pathetic and the shock of the day! My SB pick to win it all even lost, the Packers. Raiders and 49ers lost as well. The Raiders game may have been the 2nd biggest surprise of the day behind the Seahawks losing. I didn't expect the Falcons to beat them in Oakland. Now to NUGGET'S Chargers, very nice. 38-14 over the Jags! Colts play the Chargers next Sunday in Indy and I am not sure Colts can beat them. Rivers has to be licking his chops going against our depleted Secondary.

I can still take the great with the bad when it comes to Football. Because I have been spoiled over the last 15 seasons 2002-into 2016, the Colts have had the 2nd most wins overall out of the 32 teams in the league and a SB win in that time frame. Only the Patriots have more overall wins and only the Patriots, Steelers, and Giants have more SB wins. I am going back 15 seasons! It wasn't all Peyton either, Luck has had 3 Very Good seasons with a lot of wins as well to add to the tradition. Over the last 15 seasons 2002-into 2016:
1. Patriots 172-54 Regular Season, 19-9 Playoffs = 191-63 (75.2%) 3 SB wins = 2003/2004/2014
2. Colts 152-74 Regular Season, 12-11 Playoffs = 164-85 (65.9%) 1 SB win = 2006
Other notable teams = Steelers 2005/2008 and Giants 2007/2011 have won 2 SB's in this time frame but aren't even close to the Colts in overall wins or winning% and I went back 15 seasons! The last time the Cowboys won a SB was in 1995. The last time the 49ers won a SB was in 1994. Those 2 franchises have won 5 SB's but it's been over 2 decades since they have won one!

UGHHH my Raiders . . :pullhair: giving up 34 AGAIN. Losing the winnables is what keeps us at or below .500. Did you see the clip of the drunk Raider fan getting punched by two other Raider fans at the Coliseum? Crazy.

I know, that was crazy with the fans and it was guys cheering for the same team? I don't know much about it but I heard about it. I feel your pain Rev, Colts lost to the Lions at home in a game we had in the bag last week. Instead of being 1-1, it is now 0-2. 0-2 is panic time. At least you guys are 1-1.

To put in perspective how much the Colts have won over the last 15 seasons, the Steelers record from 2002-into 2016 is:
144-81-1 Regular Season, 12-7 Playoffs = 156-88-1 (63.8%) and they are known as a franchise that dominates and they do have the most SB wins in NFL history overall with 6. Colts have won as many Playoff games as they have in this time frame.

11 wins should always be the 1st goal - that gets you in the playoffs 99% of the time. Only 1 team has missed the Playoffs that went 11-5 in the NFL since it went to 6 teams to get in 1990, in each Conference. It was the 2008 Patriots :waaaaa: :roflmao: . There have been a few teams that have went 10-6 and not make it though, you need to win 11 to be safe. 10 wins may not cut it this season in the AFC as I can see a team winning 10 games and missing a Wildcard. It happened last season with the Jets. The Raiders are in a Division where all 4 teams could win 10, even the Chargers look better than I thought! I think the only way the Colts get in is win their Division because I don't see 11 wins this season from them. They will have to win their Division games and sweep the Texans IMO. I see them at only 9 maybe 10 wins at the most. Both Wildcard teams my end up with 11 wins in the AFC. That is a deep Conference.

I am on fire this week regarding my picks! I have only got 2 wrong = Steelers and Giants losing. Andrew Luck 63 Yards to TY Hilton with a minute to ago for the win. He does it again! Such a huge game saving season win for the Colts. Colts behind Andrew Luck's rally defeat Phillip Rivers Chargers 26-22. The other 3 teams in the Colts Division lost too :roflmao: Jags are 0-3. Texans are 2-1 but just got blown out by the Pats and their schedule is ridiculously tough coming up! Colts at 1-2 are fine now. Cam Newton looks terrible once again with his 3 INT's and losing to Minnesota in Carolina. They didn't even have Peterson.

Key stretch coming up for my Colts as they have 4 straight winnable games facing them = the Jags in London, Bears in Indy, at Texans, and at Titans. We should win all 4 of them to get to 5-2. The Colts started 0-2 in 2014 and did the same thing that season winning 5 straight to get to 5-2. They ended up making the AFC Title Game as well. That was a huge win on Sunday over the Chargers who have been playing well, Luck pulled a rabbit out of his hat on that one. Getting a key 4th and 7 to TY Hilton which got exactly 7 and then the 63 Yard game winning TD to TY as well. That is a season saver, teams that have started 0-3 over the last 10 seasons have failed to make the Playoffs. JJ Watt being out for the season is a huge blow to the Texans as well. Luck just needs to stay healthy.

Luck is just not playing like Luck. Had an excellent chance to send the game to OT but the offense just couldn't get in-sync.

My Raiders are doing their best to keep the Ravens in this one . . just not playing up to their potential yet on offense but the defense has tightened up since that debacle at home vs. the Falcons.

*side note - Herschel came out here and attended the game, but strangely made no effort to try and hang out. Hmm. I can only assume he had his reasons.

Congrats on the Raiders win Rev! Yeah Andrew had his chance to pull another one out but the Colts lost  At 1-3 it's not looking good. The Colts, Jags, and Titans are all 1-3 in the AFC South while the Texans are at 3-1. The Texans did lose Watt for the year and their schedule gets difficult shortly so the season isn't over yet but if you cant beat the Jags your team has big problems. Colts just simply have a Bad Defense and cant run the ball. Gore is still Above Average but he's just too old and cant carry the load like he did in SF. Panthers look just as bad, Cam is 1-3 as well, Falcons destroyed them today! Not sure what is going on with the Panthers because they even have their best WR Benjamin back this season?? Regarding Herschel, that does seem odd, if I had a chance to meet any of you guys I would party with all of you. It was a pleasure meeting Kenny and eating wings, doing shots, and drinking beer and talking Lakers with him.

I am going to the Colts/Bears game Sunday. Time to bring the team some MAGIC :beavis: Just another notch in the 40 or so to 50 games I have attended since 1984.

As the "for-reals" start to distance themselves from the "nope not this year" collection of teams, there are still several question marks. Are some of these 4-0 and 3-1 teams really that good? Can any of the 1-3 teams rally and grab a playoff spot? The Raiders, though certainly talented, still look like a team that can lose any game they're in, and only a more focused approach will get them real respect from the league. *Sidenote - we have the most amazing, electrifying punter in the league!

Brady is back, the Broncos look sharp, and we'll see if the Vikings are as tough as their surprising start.

Just got home from the game! Colts won 29-23, I brought them LUCK today! Texans got smoked by the Vikings too. Colts only 1 game out of first place now, still only 2-3 but baby steps. Texans fall to 3-2. Anyway great day for Andrew Luck and the guys. Now it's on to Houston to play those Texans. A win next week puts the Colts in 1st place in the AFC South.
