So here are my early projections as to who will win each Division and who will make the Playoffs. I am usually decent with these predictions as I am predicting the SB winner like when I had the Broncos winning it all last season entering the Playoffs.

AFC
AFC East - Patriots. I think without Brady for the 1st 4 games they go 2-2 but once he returns I cant see that team doing no worse than 11-5. If they start 2-2 it will cost them HFA IMO though which is crucial for them.
AFC South - Colts. This will be a bounce back seqason for Luck and company. I can see the Colts going 10-6.
AFC North - Steelers. I think they will be the #1 Seed in the AFC at 12-4. Very loaded Offense.
AFC West - ?. This Division will be the most entertaining in Football. With Peyton retired it's wide open. The Raiders are much improved and the Chiefs are definitely a 10 win team, also Phillip Rivers is always dangerous for the Chargers. I don't see anyone in this Division with a losing record. If I had to lean toward picking a Division winner it would be the Chiefs at 10-6 and I have the Raiders and Broncos both 10-6 as well with Chiefs getting the tiebreaker. Chargers will be 8-8 at worse.

Playoff teams = Steelers 1 Seed 12-4, Patriots 2 Seed 11-5, Colts 3 Seed 10-6, Chiefs 4 Seed 10-6, Raiders 5 Seed (Wildcard) 10-6, Broncos 6 Seed (Wildcard) 10-6. Out from last season are the Bengals and Texans, in are the Colts and Raiders. Usually 1 or 2 different teams make the Playoffs in each Conference that didn't from the season before. I still think the Broncos get in because of their Defense mainly, they can still win 10 games. Yes folks I have the Raiders led by Carr making the Playoffs. Rev, Craig, and Tate can think me later but it will happen!

NFC
NFC East - Cowboys
NFC South - Panthers
NFC North - Packers
NFC West - Cardinals

Playoff teams = Packers 1 Seed 13-3, Cowboys 2 Seed 11-5, Panthers 3 Seed 11-5, Cardinals 4 Seed 11-5, Seahawks 5 Seed (Wildcard) 11-5, Vikings 6 Seed 10-6 (Wildcard). I like the Cards again in the West getting the tiebreaker over the Seahawks. Look out for the Cowboys this season as Romo will be back and healthy and the RB they Drafted in Elliott looks like the next Adrian Peterson. I can see them bouncing back in a huge way! Panthers had their 1 glory season by going 15-1, don't expect that again but they will still win their Division but wont sniff 15-1 again. Out from last season are the Redskins, in are the Cowboys.

Overall I think the Steelers and Packers play in SB 51 with Rodgers getting Ring #2. He is due. A rematch of SB 45.

*Thank, not think LOL. Thank you Craig. Yeah I think they get in but that whole Division is going to be tough.

Are you trying to imply that Tom Brady isn't a pure, completely honest, upstanding individual, capable of leading and representing America's team?

You'd think he was . . I dunno . . Hilary or something!

:pissedkobe:

Watching the ESPYs, I never watch it but I got stuck tonight and it's pretty good. Kobe stood next to Abby what's-her-name and some Peyton something-or-other and accepted an Icon award. He joked about going out with a stellar 17-65 season and promised he wasn't done motivating young athletes to follow in his footsteps.

Yeah got stuck working tonight but it's an easy Firewatch type of deal. I will have to catch the ESPY's in the morning. ESPN always replays that stuff. As far as tarnishing Brady's legacy I would go as far as to say he does belong in the Top 5 but it has to be questioned. Who knows how long that he and Pats have been doing this. Not fumbling once in 2014 is maybe the most amazing Stat I have ever seen for a team that has no future HOFamers at RB or WR. Gronk is a TE and will probably make it but nobody else will on that team that catches passes or runs. Brady didn't fumble either and took a lot of hits.

I am actually watching it now. So glad Peyton got that 2nd Ring. It seems like when a QB gets that 2nd Ring the respect factor goes way up for that QB. Even the haters over at ESPN that Post have toned down the choke stuff LOL. Kobe went 17-65 and joked about it but he had 5 Championships so has nothing to feel bad about. The Lakers just sucked as a team over the last 3 seasons.

The Indianapolis Colts 2006 SuperBowl Championship team will be honored at Lucas Oil on November 20th at Halftime when they play the Titans. Players such as Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday, Bob Sanders, Dwight Freeney, Gary Brackett, and Robert Mathis will attend the ceremony. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the Colts won the SuperBowl! That same core team who had every player I mentioned above from 2004-2008 had one of the best 5 season runs of all-time in NFL History going 63-17 in the Regular Season = 78.8 winning% and 5-4 in the Playoffs = 55.6 winning% and our SuperBowl Championship in 2006!

To show how dominant that 5 season run was by Indy, I used the New England Patriots by comparison with Brady and Belichick running the show.:
The Patriots from the 2010-2014 seasons over those 5 seasons were also 63-17 in the Regular Season = 78.8 winning% and 7-4 in the Playoffs = 63.6 winning% with 1 SuperBowl Championship in 2014. Almost identical to the Colts run that they had from 2004-2008 and in most peoples eye's the Patriots have been this invincible robotic team over the last 5 years! They also got luckier than hell to win their SuperBowl in that time frame as well as the Seahawks just gave the game away!

If you took the New England Patriots best 5 season run it would be from 2001-2005 because they won 3 SuperBowl's which were in the 2001, 2003, and 2004 seasons. Having said that they missed the Playoffs in 2002 by only having a 9-7 record. Their Regular Season record in that 5 season timeframe was only 58-22 = 72.5 winning% but their playoff record was an outstanding 10-1 = 90.9 winning%.

Ranking the all-time Greatest franchises during the Superbowl era 1966-2015, 50 seasons of Foosball.
1. Steelers - 6 Superbowl Championships (1974/75/78/79/2005/08), also 2 other AFC Conference Championships (1995/2010).
2. Cowboys - 5 Superbowl Championships (1971/77/1992/93/95), also 3 other NFC Conference Championships (1970/75/78).
3. 49ers - 5 Superbowl Championships (1981/84/88/89/1994), also 1 other NFC Conference Championship (2012).
4. Patriots - 4 Superbowl Championships (2001/03/04/15), also 3 other AFC Conference Championships (1985/2007/11).
5. Giants - 4 Superbowl Championships (1986/1990/2007/11), also 1 other NFC Conference Championship (2000).
5. Packers - 4 Superbowl Championships (1966/1967/1996/2010), also 1 other NFC Conference Championship (1997).* Tied with the Giants as far as winning Superbowl's and Conference Championships.
7. Broncos - 3 Superbowl Championships (1997/98/2015), also 5 other AFC Conference Championships (1977/1986/87/89/2013).
8. Redskins - 3 Superbowl Championships (1982/87/1991), also 2 other NFC Conference Championships (1972/1983).
8. Raiders - 3 Superbowl Championships (1976/1980/83), also 1 other AFC Conference Championship (2002) and 1 other SB appearance (1967).* Tied with the Skins as far as winning Superbowl's and SB appearances.
10. Dolphins - 2 Superbowl Championships (1972/73), also 2 other AFC Conference Championships (1971/1984).
10. Colts - 2 Superbowl Championships (1970/2006), also 1 other AFC Conference Championship (2009) and 1 other SB appearance (1968). * Tied with the Dolphins as far as winning Superbowl's and SB appearances. Colts are tied for the 10th best franchise in the Superbowl era out of 32 teams. Raiders are tied for 8th. Great stuff!

I used Conference Championships/SB appearances as a tie breaker if teams had the same amount of Superbowl wins. The league didn't merge to NFC/AFC until 1970 so I labeled the 1967 Raiders and 1968 Colts as SB appearances. Kirby's Steelers are #1 LOL!

IMO I will list the greatest player in each of these great franchises during the Superbowl era:
1. Steelers = Mean Joe Greene
2. Cowboys = Emmitt Smith
3. 49ers = Joe Montana, (Jerry Rice deserves mentioning)
4. Patriots = Tom Brady
5. Giants = Lawrence Taylor
5. Packers = Brett Favre
7. Broncos = John Elway
8. Redskins = John Riggins
8. Raiders = Marcus Allen
10. Dolphins = Dan Marino
10. Colts = Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas deserves mentioning but a lot of best years occurred before the Superbowl era so it has to be Peyton.
-For you Raiders fans in here = Rev, Craig, and Tate do you agree that Marcus Allen is the greatest Raider of all-time?

Tim Brown was very special. I loved watching Bo Jackson play. Plunkett, Branch, Stabler, Alzado, Christensen were great too. But Marcus Allen was my childhood hero.

No. And I'll get to that in a minute.

But let me amend your list a little first.

1. Steelers = Lynn Swann
2. Cowboys = Roger Staubach
3. 49ers = Jerry Rice (Joe deserves mentioning)
4. Patriots = Tom Brady
5. Giants = Phil Simms (Eli and LT deserve mentioning)
5. Packers = Brett Favre
7. Broncos = John Elway
8. Redskins = Mark Moseley (Theisman, Riggins and D. Williams)
10. Dolphins = Dan Marino (Bob Griese)

And 11. Ken "The Snake" Stabler. Marcus was electric, but he joined a team that was already packed with talent and a winning tradition "Stable"ized by John Madden and the crafty gun-slinging QB out of Alabama. Although Tom Flores and Jim Plunkett were at the helm for our last two titles, the Raider legacy was earned in the 1970s. Neither Stabler's passer rating nor his TD-INT ratio are noteworthy, but his accomplishments speak for themselves:

Super Bowl champion (XI)
NFL Most Valuable Player (1974)
4× Pro Bowl (1973, 1974, 1976, 1977)
2× First-Team All-Pro (1974, 1976)
Bert Bell Award (1974)
NFL Offensive Player of the Year (1974)
2× NFL passing touchdowns leader (1974, 1976)

8. Redskins = Mark Moseley (Theisman, Riggins and D. Williams)
10. Dolphins = Dan Marino (Bob Griese)

And 11. Ken "The Snake" Stabler. Marcus was electric, but he joined a team that was already packed with talent and a winning tradition "Stable"ized by John Madden and the crafty gun-slinging QB out of Alabama. Although Tom Flores and Jim Plunkett were at the helm for our last two titles, the Raider legacy was earned in the 1970s. Neither Stabler's passer rating nor his TD-INT ratio are noteworthy, but his accomplishments speak for themselves:

Super Bowl champion (XI)
NFL Most Valuable Player (1974)
4× Pro Bowl (1973, 1974, 1976, 1977)
2× First-Team All-Pro (1974, 1976)
Bert Bell Award (1974)
NFL Offensive Player of the Year (1974)
2× NFL passing touchdowns leader (1974, 1976)
NFL 1970s All-Decade Team

Nice response Rev. Great Post actually. Hey you left Colts/Peyton off though :waaaaa: I don't know I still would roll with Marcus but your response was excellent! Kenny the Snake was one of a kind and the 1976 Raiders were an awesome team! The 49ers had 3 players that could've been listed, Joe, Jerry, and Ronnie Lott. To me Joe has to be #1 though.

For fun here are Playoff bracket's for each decade: Playing under the rules they played under during their decade!
70's
#1 1978 Steelers - I think they were the best team during the decade despite the Dolphins going 17-0 in 1972.
#2 1972 Dolphins
#3 1977 Cowboys
#4 1976 Raiders
-I would love to see the Raiders best team play the Steelers best team in the 70's. A 1 vs 4 matchup would give us that! That would be a blood bath with hard hits, close lines, and eye gauging!

80's
1. 1989 49ers
2. 1985 Bears
3. 1983 Raiders
4. 1986 Giants

90's
1. 1993 Cowboys
2. 1994 49ers
3. 1998 Broncos
4. 1991 Redskins

2000-2009's
1. 2004 Patriots
2. 2006 Colts
3. 2000 Ravens
4. 2008 Steelers

2010-2015 seasons so far
1. 2014 Patriots
2. 2013 Seahawks
3. 2015 Broncos
4. 2010 Packers

JJ Watt needs back surgery, out at least 6 weeks, 6-8 weeks is recovery time. Will miss all Pre-season and probably a few Regular Season games. Interesting!

RIP Dennis Green, passed away at 67 - Heart attack. He led the Vikings to a 15-1 record in 1998 and made the Final 4, probably the best team in the last 20 years not to win the Superbowl.

-Other news, Le'Veon Bell to be suspended for 4 games for missing a drug test! The Steelers Running Back continues to disappoint. Their first 4 games are at Redskins, Bengals, at Eagles, Chiefs that is a tough schedule! With Tom out for the Pats the first 4 games, JJ Watt's back surgery - he will be injury prone all season, this makes the AFC wide open. I think the Steelers, Pats, and Texans could all start 1-3 in reality, 2-2 at best. I have the Pats starting 2-2.
