BTW, I would LOVE to see Coach Eleven Rings take to Twitter with a response to this article. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. One does have to wonder whether the greatest head coach of all-time is limited in his vision as an executive, similar to Michael Jordan, who has proven to be out of his league as an executive.

HAVING SAID THAT, is it me, or have the Knicks actually played over their heads a bit this season? Weren't Phil's player personnel decisions on the money? Porzingis? Afflalo? Derrick Williams? Robin Lopez? Like I said, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Porzingis kind of fell in his lap though. When it was his turn to pick Towns, Okafor & Russell were already off the board. I doubt that he would had had the cajones to pick Porzingas with the #2 pick

Yeah, but the Knicks fans booed the selection mightily and players like Mudiay, Cauley-Stein, Winslow, Stanley Johnson and others were still on the board. On the flip side, I seriously don't understand how NBA scouts could possibly miss on this guy. Shame on Mitch Kupchak for shying away from a 7'3" 19 year old professional with skills through the roof. WTF ever happened to the good old fashioned eye test and big cajones! So it wasn't a "fall into his lap" thing necessarily. He knew.

Translation: Don't assume he is married to the triangle offense or his small tree assistant coaches. It sounds like Phil will go a different direction.

It will be interesting to see who will be Coaching them next season. Phil did great with the Porzingis pick.
