I will go with these Top 5's at each position if I can only choose 5. This is all-time updated,
PG's
1. Magic Johnson
2. Oscar Robertson
3. Isiah Thomas - I agree with Magic he should be 3rd
4. Steph Curry
5. John Stockton, I would take the Stock over Bob Cousy despite Cousy's championship resume. Just like I think Wilt is better than Russell. The Celtics back then had an All-Star team is the main reason why they won so many Championships. I honestly think though Steph Curry is better than Stockton already despite not having near the resume but he does have a Championship if one wanted to use that in an argument between those 2. I have never seen a better shooter than Steph Curry and that includes Reggie Miller. Stockton has to be Top 5 because nobody will come close to his Assist record and that is the primary job of a PG, too Assist!
SG's
1. Michael Jordan
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Jerry West
4. Dwyane Wade
5. John Havlicek - He was 6'5 205. I will list him as a SG. He is labeled a SG/SF on Wiki. Tough leaving off players like Clyde Drexler and Reggie Miller!
SF's
1. Larry Bird
2. LeBron James
3. Elgin Baylor
4. Julius Erving
5. James Worthy - I would put Worthy in my Top 5. Guy was clutch and always performed well in big Playoff games. He won a Finals MVP in 1988. This is probably doing Scottie Pippen a disservice but Worthy would beat him one-on-one IMO as well. I also considered Kevin Durant, Durant is already that Great in his young career. You all know Durant is coming to the Lakers next season!!
PF's
1. Tim Duncan
2. Karl Malone
3. Charles Barkley
4. Dirk Nowitzki
5. Kevin Garnett, I feel bad leaving off Bob Pettit but to me Dirk and Garnett deserve Top 5 honors. Dirk took out Miami in 2011.
Centers
1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
2. Wilt Chamberlain
3. Bill Russell
4. Shaquille O'Neal - He probably should rank 3rd in all honesty as he was more dominant than Russell Offensively but Russell was the ultimate team player, Defender, Rebounder, and won 11 Championships.
5. Hakeem Olajuwon slightly over the great Moses Malone!
-A lot of this is eye test but I had to rely on film as well regarding some of the older players I haven't seen live. Stats, Clutch play, MVP's, and Championships were a part of my equation as well.
