Ken, the Yankees are currently the last WildCard spot as we speak. I think they will get in. RedSox will probably win the Division but all that matters is, is getting in. Yankees still control that, they are up 1-0 right now in the 8th as I am watching them play Seattle. If the Yankees win this, they will have the same record as the Cubs oddly enough at 49-45. Cubs are about to start a 3 game set with the Cards, Jake is going tomorrow. Brewers have some luck on their side as they play the worse team in the league in Philly tomorrow. Cubs just need to keep winning and take care of their own business. 1 game out in the NL Central at 49-45, Brewers at 52-46 actually have 1 more loss.

Yankees now up 2-0 in the Top of 9th, Judge just gave the Yanks an insurance run in the 8th. Looking at the AL WildCard race, I would trust the Yankees over the Twins or Seattle getting that final spot. They are better than those teams IMO. Royals are nothing special either, nowhere near what they were 2 years ago when they won the WS. Indians will probably win the AL Central so just pencil them in as a Division Champ.

My man Chapman closes Seattle out - he just threw one at 102 :roflmao: ! Yankees are in good shape regarding a WildCard spot. I will always love Chap for how he helped the Cubs win the WS. Maddon so overused him in the Playoffs but had too as he was our best Pitcher. He would've been WS MVP had it not been for the HR he gave up in Game 7 that tied the game (8th Inning) but to his credit he came back in the 9th Inning and pitched great giving up no Runs. He actually got the WIN in Game 7 anyway. Chap pitched a marvelous 3 Innings in Game 5 of the WS with the Cubs down 3 games to 1, that set the tone for the comeback series win. He is actually just a dominant 1 Inning Pitcher, so right there that is telling.

The Champs better start playing like they mean it -- Arizona and Colorado are going to be hard to overtake for a Wild Card spot. Meanwhile, the Yankees are only a game back of Tampa Bay for a WC berth. Lots of ball left to play! My Dodgers lost just their fifth game in their last 36.

Cubs only 1 back though for Division lead. I think they win that. Brewers are now coming back to earth. Yankees are currently 5th for 2nd WildCard spot, only a game behind Rays as you said. They may end up 4th. The AL has a lot of teams fighting for those spots. Dodgers are 66-30 and are running away with their Division. It should be their Pennant to lose.

Cubs 6 game winning streak got snapped but the Brewers lost again so they didn't lose any ground in the Division. Current NL Central standings are:
Brewers 52-47
Cubs 49-46 (1 back)
Pirates 49-48 (2 back)
Cards 47-49 (3.5 back)
Reds 40-56 (10.5 back) - Reds are the only weak team in the Division
-This Division is getting wild as August approaches. Cubs just 1 game back, Pirates and Cards both right there in the mix too.

Cubs just beat the Cards by coming from behind down 2-0. 3-2 Cubs win, Trick or Treat! .5 back now out of 1st in the Division.

Brewers lost today so that puts them at 53-48, Cubs are at 50-46 going into tonight's game against their arch rival the Cards. If the Cubs win tonight they will do 2 things, win the rubber match over the hated Cards and be in 1st place in the NL Central by %points. Lets see what my Champs are made of! If the Cubs win they would move to 51-46 = .526, Brewers are at 53-48 = .525.

CUBS WIN, 1st place now in the NL Central by %points. If the season ended today we would be the 3rd seed and we haven't even started playing good yet, wait until the Playoffs :LOBtrophy:

If we finish as the 3rd Seed, we will smoke Washington. Don't tighten up LA. The Champs are coming :ak47:

The greatest hurler on the planet had to leave after two innings today because of recurring back issues. I hope this isn't something permanent that keeps Kersh out of scheduled starts and 7+ inning games, but his prime is here and ending and we still need him to give us championship-type outings. Yu Darvish may join our staff, but the soul of our team has to get and be healthy for us to get back to the Fall Classic. Rest and relax, Clayton.

He will be fine IMO, I would be a fool to think you guys aren't the team to beat this season. 68-31 is really impressive, I think it will end up Cubs vs Dodgers again in the end but you guys will have HFA this time. Dodgers have tons of fire power and solid Pitching. Washington wont beat us or you guys IMO and the 2 WildCard teams will probably be the D-Backs and Rockies who aren't scary at all.

Brewers down 9-0 today to the Nats, if they lose they fall to 54-50. Cubs are 53-47 in 1st place. Ken are you positive the Cubs wont Repeat? Cubs would be a 3rd seed which is even perfect, they would draw the Nats but they choke. Dodgers are like the Utah Jazz of 97/98 - they should win and will have HFA but can they take down Chicago who have the best player in Kris Bryant?

Yanks on fire again! Even Tanaka is starting to pitch well. I still wouldn't rule out a Yankees-Dodgers World Series!

I honestly wouldn't rule out anything. Brewers beat the Cubs tonight but the Cubs could actually afford to drop 1 now. They were due for a loss. Still in 1st place in the NL Central. Cubs made up 6 games in 2 weeks to take over 1st place. A Dodgers/Yankees WS would be compelling TV. The AL has a lot of really good teams though, Astros, RedSox, and Indians are a huge threat to win the AL.

I can make an argument to several players being better than Bryant statistically. Mike Trout when healthy is, Bryce Harper and Aaron Judge for example but will these players show up in big moments during the Playoffs? Bryant did last season and has a Ring already, got it in year 2. Hell his team went to NLCS his Rookie season with him being the best player on his team.
