It will be interesting to see if Yi has any kind of game come this season or even how much he plays. As of now I cant even see how he would be a part of a 10 man rotation with us having MozGov, Black, and Zubac + Randle and Nance for Big's.

At least we have plenty of interchangeable pieces to guard against those inevitable injuries. Our core should be glued enough to support the growth of the new additions. Two more months!

Importantly, the Sacre, Kelly garbage is gone and we have some natural small forwards on this squad with talent. Calderon is a professional point guard and both young D'Angelo and old Marcelo have a year of NBA experience under their belts at that position now, which is a big deal. Obviously, the center position has been upgraded, too, and I believe that both of our young power forwards will open some eyes this year. Lou Williams will thrive once again coming off the bench and Jordan Clarkson's game should reach its potential this season. New coach, new vibe, new direction.

I think Zubac won't play much.

Also Nance and Randle do have some injury history, as well as Mosgov recently so , if we have to roll out

Russell
Clarkson
Ingram
Yi
Tarik

We won't have to change our style of play too much

I agree with all of that. Style-wise, Zubac can even slide into Mozgov's role when he goes down, albeit it will be a drop off because of his rawness. That just creates more minutes for Black and Yi, which is fine. Injuries to either Randle or Nance also opens up minutes for Yi. Deng can always slide over to the small ball 4 position. There is plenty of flexibility on this squad that Luke should be able to develop its culture/identity without sacrificing style of play.

How this squad plays FOCUSED TEAM DEFENSE will be the barometer for how our W-L columns look by the ASG.

Communication, communication, communication. Oh, and talent/experience. I wish we had some more of that seasoned NBA stuff, but we don't.

In Ingram's 3rd season, Russell's 4th, Randle's 5th, along with JC... We will still be a young ass team getting schooled by savvy vets.

This is a true rebuild.

It's cool though. Mosgov, Deng, Lou are quality lockerroom guys.
Especially for the young guys.

It's hard to tell who will emerge as future stars, role players or busts by 2018-19 and who knows whether trades involving any of the aforementioned players will materialize. My hope is that they form a bond, become men and make the playoffs by Ingram's Year 3. If so, the future will be bright. Time to strap on the seatbelts and enjoy the climb!

I am thinking by year 3 Ingram we at least be an all-star. It took Durant into his 3rd season to get OKC to the Playoffs so we will see. I would love to see 30 wins this season (2016-17) and progress made, then maybe close to 40 wins next season (2017-18) and the young guys jell and get great chemistry. Then after that assuming Ingram, Russell, Randle, Nance, Clarkson are all together we could be dangerous by 2018-19. By 2018-19 who knows we may have 2 or 3 Good Free Agent signings as well added to our main core now.

Ingram's third season??? :waaaaa: The ONLY thing in our way right now is the Warriors. Deng and Mozgov will turn into Anthony Davis and Jimmy Butler-types by Ingram's third year, because our core will have popped the bubble and earned the savvy to attract the best. Our rebuilds don't take 8 years, with the exception of Magic's HIV and the inevitable effect of paying an all-time legend like Kobe to win multiple titles. The Bulls haven't been able to replace the Jordan/Pippen/Phil years, and the Spurs' incredible never-could-repeat run is done. LeBron and his merry men have been the ONLY sure bet for the last 6 years, but power doesn't last in the East. I see the Lakers back on top within 4 years!
