MLB - the 7th Inning Stretch

The pesky Brewers got us tonight. So they are now back in 1st place by a half game. The rubber match is tomorrow. Brewers fans Posting on ESPN Game Boards and on Twitter saying Cubs fans don't respect them LOL. Hard to respect a fan base that Posts like idiots. Their fan base has been talkin shit all season calling us the Scrubs and saying how overrated we are. What in the hell have they ever won? We have been to the NLCS 3 seasons in a row and just won a World Series in 2016, they have never won a WS in their franchise existence. They say 108 years, so fucking what! What does that have to do with this Cubs core team or the prices of eggs in North Korea? Since Bryant, Rizzo, Arrieta, and Lester have been on the same Roster together the Cubs have never failed to make it to the NLCS. That 108 year thing is so old news, I hate to break it to anyone. Since we won a WS, us Cubs laugh at people that bring that up. It's irrelevant now, sorry for the Haters but the ol sweet Billy Goats and Bartman's are old news. We are now a respected franchise and one of the best in the world. The only real Rivalry we have in my eyes are the Dodgers because we are 1-1 against them in the NLCS over the last 2 seasons. Cards are just hated :roflmao:, Brewers are cute!, Nats are chumps/chokers, and the Indians were never going to beat us even up 3-1. Once Chapman tore them a new ass in Game 5, they panicked. In Games 6 and 7 we showed them who was boss in the 2016 WS at their place even. Indians will never win a WS with the core they have now. Print it, put it in a book, tell the whole world I said so.

We are basically midway through June and if I had to pick 1 team to win it all it would be the Yankees. Cubs look strong in the NL but the AL has better teams. Cubs lost 1-0 today so they are now back in the 1st WildCard spot. Brewers are pretty good this season so winning the Division isn't a gimme like the last 2 seasons were. Brewers have the best BullPen era in the whole league.

I picked the Dodgers to win the World Series before the season started. I just figured they were due, Cubs just won one in 2016 and they then beat the Cubs last year but lost in 7 games to the Astros in the WS. Health is going to be a key factor for all teams when the Playoffs start. I think in the end it will be the same 4 teams in the Final 4, that usually never happens but I think it will in 2018. Whoever is the healthiest will win it all between Dodgers/Cubs, Yankees/Astros. Right now Kershaw is injured and who knows how he will be the rest of the season? If he isn't healthy that would obviously make a huge difference in a Dodgers/Cubs NLCS. Yankees took the Astros 7 last season in the ALCS and are better this season IMO. Hardly nobody ever Repeats either in Baseball hasn't happened since 2000. If they get HFA I definitely favor them this time around. If all teams are healthy, my pick of Dodgers over Yankees still might happen. If Kershaw cant Pitch in the Postseason, I see a Cubs/Yankees WS.

Cubs kill Cards 13-5 in Lester's 8th win, Kíke and the resurgent Kemp homer for the Dodgers - who lead the majors in homers this month - in Stripling's 6th win as the Giants go down 3-2, and the Yanks win 5-0 over the Rays in Loaisiga's strong Major League debut. This season is shaping up to be quite competitive and entertaining!

It has indeed Rev. We are now officially halfway through June so we have a large sample size of how teams are. 2.5 months of Baseball already played. The AL has some loaded teams I will say that. Here are my Elite 8 Power Rankings midway through June:
1. Yankees 45-20
2. Redsox 48-23
3. Astros 46-25
4. Brewers 42-27 (I think they are a tad better than the Mariners by my eye test). I have to respect this for now.
5. Cubs 39-27 (I think they are better than the Mariners as well)
6. Mariners 45-25
7. Braves 40-29
8. D-Backs 39-30

-Rev, the Dodgers are playing much better now and are definitely still a contender. Only 2.5 games behind the D-Backs in the NL West now at 36-32. Get Kershaw healthy and you guys will be there again in the end IMO, NLCS at worse. I still think you take NL West but as of now the D-Backs still look like the slightly better team. The Kershaw situation is a bit scary.

Kíke and Kemp both homer again as the Dodgers hand MadBum (0-2) his second loss! To top it off, the lousy Mets are up 5-1 late vs. the D-bags . . if they hang on, the Dodgers will be one game behind Arizona. We've been putting up a lot of runs in our victories of late, but to escape Bumgardner with a 3-1 win is good enough!

Yanks win, Cubs win, upstart Seattle slips past Boston 1-0 and those surprising Swingin' A's keep winning. I'm looking to hit a Dodger game in L.A., possibly the first weekend in August when they host the Astros in a WS rematch. Kenny if you're in town let's try to drag Craig and Robert (recently friended him on FB) out to get wild with us!

Dodgers just 1.5 back in the NL West now, Cubs now just .5 back in the NL Central. Great stuff Rev!

Dodgers at Cubs Postponed tonight due to rain. Great news is the Cubs are back in 1st place and didn't even have to play. Brewers lost tonight, Cards lost to :D . The current NL Central Standings as of the end of tonight = June 18th are:

NL Central
1. Cubs 40-28 .588
2. Brewers 42-30 .583
3. Cards 37-33 (4 games behind the Cubs)

-Brewers have played out of their ass all season and we are still in 1st place and June is more than half over! The Yankees, Redsox, and Astros can beat each other up all season for all I care. We only have to play 1 of them in the end.

I love comparing resumes:
Here is Resume #1 - Player A = his first 3 full seasons
Batting AVG - .312
Hits - 545
Runs - 353
RBI's - 291
HR's - 93
SB's - 98
0 World Championships
1 AL League MVP
0 World Series MVP's
Won AL Rookie of the Year
No Gold Gloves

Resume #2 - Player B = his first 3 full seasons
Batting AVG - .287
Hits - 492
Runs - 319
RBI's - 274
HR's - 94
SB's - 28
1 World Championship
1 NL League MVP
0 World Series MVP's
Won NL Rookie of the Year
No Gold Gloves

The Stat/Accolade in Bold is the winner. It's deceptive because Player A has 5 Bold's while Player B has 2 Bold's but Player B isn't far behind in any category except SB's. Player B even hit more HR's in his 1st 3 seasons. Player B has also won a Championship and had the same amount of League MVP's in his 1st 3 seasons. Both won Rookie of the Year in their Leagues, neither won a WS MVP in their 1st 3 seasons or a Gold Glove. Player A is regarded as the best player in the league but I would take Player B's resume any day of the week going by their 1st 3 seasons. It's because of the Championship. Player B has only played 3 full seasons hence that comparison. I would rather have Very Good Stats and 1 Championship, than Great Stats and 0 Championships.

"And down to their final strike, the Dodgers have taken a 4-3 lead!!!"

The Cubs' play-by-play announcer (or whoever was doing it for TV) describing a bases-clearing 2-RBI double by Kyle Farmer in the top of the 9th at Wrigley. Joc Pederson got things going on the second pitch of the game, smacking a Home Run to right center. Sorry 3Peat! Hopefully we can ride the wave tonight!

The second half of the double-header is coming up!

Yeah we let one get away in Game 1. 1 strike away from winning and Farmer came through. In the Night game so far, you guys are up 1-0 in the 6th. So far we cant hit Rich Hill at all. You may get the sweep today? We caught you guys at a bad time as the Dodgers have been playing their best Baseball of the season the last 3 weeks or so. We also play you guys again next week in LA for a 4 game set starting Monday- Thursday. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are all night games next week. Thursday is a day game. Damn if you and Craig aren't busy you guys should try and go to one of those.

Craig is in LA, I'm in Oakland. Definitely planning a trip down (5-hour drive, 90 min flight) to catch the Bums - probably in early August. 3Peat you need to take a vacation and come out to the west coast, have a few laughs! *in my Die Hard Bruce Willis voice*

LOL, Bruce Willis - Come out to the Coast have a few laughs :roflmao:. I probably wouldn't want to come home after partying with you guys and as nice as Cali is. When Ken came to Indy we had to cut it short but still drink like 4 beers a piece and did a shot, ate some Wings, and chatted for 2 hours or so. Ken is a great guy. If I am in a situation where I am not driving I would really do it up and have 3 or 4 shots and a 6 pack or so :beavis:. Cubs just won the night cap 2-1 in 10 Innings. Great 2 games so far. Rubber match tomorrow Lester vs Stripling. It's an early game, 1120am your time.
